Can't change roles when starting a squad.

So I've noticed for all squads, be it recon, infantry or armor, if you start the squad and noone is in the squad with you, you can't change roles. The "Change Role" button is greyed out.

This is especially annoying, since the SMG's are basically useless in a majority of situations on all of the maps currently, so switching to the Sniper role or a Rifle class is impossible.

same happened to my today i was starting a recon team always with assault wepon equiped dont let me chose Ocur or SNP

This is intentional. When you create a squad you are the squad leader, only players who join your squad can change their role.

Another option is to leave a squad when there is more than 1 soldiers, and then join again wshile selecting a new role.

i do the recomended options but when i dead or respaw they block the team, is .. imposible to play with those mechanism. You send request they start insulting to you and there are 2 recon teams bloked is impossible, you need to change server and you will lose all you be playing for. I literally requested to this guy open the team but they start insulting to my and a i start a vote and anyone care about, he are still playing in the recon team closed with only one guy. imposible mechanic

I can Say this has made me log out of the game. I make a squad alone so I can learn the diff stuff without interfering with people that know how to play. Like Id love to try the Heavy Machine gun but squads full so I make my own and cant try anything

When joining the game squads are usually locked. I understand why. I want to be able to make a squad and try all the different positions. Being stuck at Officer makes starting bad. I want to learn at my own pace. I want to try all the spots fins the ones I like/good at . But this is impossible when we are locked in officer role just for starting a squad.

Best way Would let someone not in a squad try out different positions then when they do join they will know their role as they have tried them.

Suggestion here: be patient for a squad being created. I squad lead unlocked squads all the time.

If you manage to get into a squad ask if you can try a role and let them know you're new.

Majority of the time I'll allow one newbie a "mess around option" unless we need that roll at that time. And I'll use me and 4 others while you mindlessly wander and learn the game. It also helps you hear lingo so you brain can start identifying what's being discussed.

It's broken though, I can't shift between other officer roles, so i can't change from point man to NCO etc. I have to leave the squad and rejoin. Also there should be an option to vote out squad lead or replace within the squad.

Yea haven't loaded the game since sad I was really looking for a good FPS but I want to learn the weapons before im thrown in a squad with people that have been playing a couple of years and feel stupid and piss them off at the same time. Its dumb to not allow the class you want to play. Its like being forced to play a priest over a war lock.
