VOIP issues
Hello everyone,

If you are having issues with voip in the game we would like to gather as much information from you.

Can you please send us your Dxdiag and answer the questions below.

SYSTEM INFORMATION

To help us understand your issue, it would be very useful if we could see the system specs for your machine. To gather this information, please find the steps below

Windows PC
  • Hold down the Windows Key and press R, the Run dialog should appear > Type dxdiag in the available text field > Click OK
  • Click Save All Information > Save the file DxDiag.txt to your Desktop so it is easy to find
  • Open the .txt file, copy all the contents > Paste all the contents to a free text hosting service such as
    http://textuploader.com http://freetexthost.com
You may need to create two posts as the Dxdiag file size can be large.

What headset/mic are you using?
Is your software for the headset/mic updated?
Are you using any third-party software for the headset/mic?

I will add the current troubleshooting steps we have in a post below.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Leaving the server and getting back in to another one should help with the voip issues.

Can you make sure your Audio Devices Drivers are all up to date.
Open Device Manager -
Open Windows Task Bar Type Device Manager and select enter.
Open Sound video and game controllers
Right-click all options and update drivers
Some players have reported uninstalling and reinstalling the audio drivers works for them

Delete the C:\Users<UserName>\AppData\Local\Application Data\HLL folder and allowing the program to regenerate the files might bring back VOIP. You do have to redo your Settings and Keybinds.

Almost all of the times i lost the ability to use push to talk (indicators who is talking get stuck, too) I was also not able to hear VOIP anymore. The issue seems to be quite common and not limited to certain setups, since everyone who is not new seems to know it. Yesterday I even had to restart the game 3 times within a single match and it either happened while pressing multiple buttons including the map or on respawn, maybe I talked on respawn. However, i'm not sure if it could just be related to the VOIP connection stability, since my internet connection had some issues yesterday and I did not have as many problems with it previously as I had yesterday.

Hi,

I can hear everyone but nobody can hear me. When I press the voice chat buttons nothing happens (no sound and no icon). Changing server/ rebooting PC/ game doesn't fix anything.

Using an AKG D5 mic connected through a Scarlett 2i2 (1st gen) USB soundcard (standard headphones without mic also connected through same card).
All drivers are up to date and have been uninstalled/ reinstalled.
No 3rd party software.

I have followed all the instructions above. I have also disabled all other sound devices and mic access is enabled in windows (though HLL doesn't show up in the list of apps that can access my microphone). Mic works fine in windows/ all other games I have tried.

DxDiag: http://txt.do/1dx33 and http://txt.do/1dx3i

Thanks!

I followed the guide and troubleshoot and nothing works.
I can hear everyone else and I can get the game to recognise my mic (name actually appears where it should when pushing to talk) by boosting the mic to max which is nothing but static. This makes me think its not a problem with my mic or drivers but rather the lack of options in game.

It seems like the threshold to recognise I am talking is set too high and without any in game options to solve this no amount of tampering at my end will fix this. I even tried messing with steams voice settings found in the friends list these days, and that picks up my mic and voice just fine and at normal levels without any boost through windows.

Is it possible for you to add more options or get the company that provides the voip vivox to add more?

Headphones: Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 250 Ohm
Mic: Modmic 5 (https://antlionaudio.com/collections/microphones/products/modmic-5)
Soundcard: SoundBlaster Z

I'm using the Creative software. Like the driver and the Sound Blaster Studio SBX application (thing). Mic and headphones are plugged into my soundcard at the back.

I tried deleting the config files in %localappdata%, disabling full screen optimization (because of the errors in event viewer) and turned off "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" in the properties->advanced window of my playback device. My default format is set to 24 bit, 48000 Hz, if that matters. I know older games have issues with that usually.

EDIT: This is related to UNIT VOICE CHAT. Not proximity.

Try 16 bit. COD 4 had a problem with 24 bit back in days. Might help.

I'm running into a constant issue where the game suddenly decides that:
A) I dont deserve to hear any VOIP from any channel whatsoever and
B) I dont deserve to communicate either.

All channels become muted and if I mash my press to chat buttons, none of them respond. As if the keybinds had been deleted.

Headphones: Razer Kraken USB
Mic: Same

The game has really become unplayable, if I can't hear call outs I'm essentially blind and might as well play Battlefield 5 or something less enticing. Which is a shame because I really enjoy playing this game, especially its tank play.

Can you make it to where where officer chat has a different slider than the others? I get officer chat is a needed thing, but at the same time when you're balls deep in the ♥♥♥♥ I don't need incompetent squad leads yelling in my ears when my squad and the others around me (squad leader less) are trying to hold an area and getting shelled to death.

I have tried the game on a laptop on the same network which works fine- I guess it can't be the SIP-ALG then?

I can't hear anyone but hear game play no problem. I 'm just did a fresh install of Windows 10 pro.
I'm using External DAC Sound Blaster G5 with Mod MIc 5 and a Pair of AKG7XX.

Every thing else works with audio along with deskop apps but no VOIP

Hi D1R7Y 0LD M4N,

Thank you for contacting us.

Can you please delete the C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Application Data\HLL folder? Then please run the game and allow it to regenerate the files. After this, you do have to redo your Settings and Keybinds.

Please get back to us, if the problem still continues after the steps.
