Hackers are Virtually Public Now
So... I was having some frustrating games today and recalled a video about hacking recently. So I thought to myself: if there's so many hackers these days then it must be easy as hell to get them! Sure enough, a simple YouTube search and you're getting stuff as fresh as a month ago with new script kitties ruining the game experience. I hope the mods see this post and check out the links, these guys are so blatant it's insane.

I've never been one to try and find hackers in game - it's just too damn difficult and a waste of time. But if these clowns are just going to post publicly, I'm curious if the devs are capable of looking into these "scripts" or notify Easy Anti-Cheat of their existence. Having the scripts on hand would seem, to me at least, the best way to start fighting back.

I don't want to post Google links because I'd literally just be advertising, but I do feel YouTube should be appropriate to post as it's a much larger platform that can curate bad habits.

Proof that high level players aren't always "good".

I stopped playing.

What I will say is that first video would get you banned if an admin is in cam, speedhacking is the easiest to spot and will very quickly get you on a community blacklist.

In the second video, the majority of hackers DO NOT play like that and clearly the person who made the video knows that and staged a game to play "smart". It's basically an ad/trailer showing features, all presentation.

And yes, don't post google links although you've already done the next worst thing and linked to cheaters advertising their hacks.

I've gone through enough clips of people cheating recently to know exactly how to determine if someone is legit or not, even with the silly "admin cam alert" hack going on right now.

Ever watched a guy clearly snapping to targets with a kill feed full of bodies within seconds of each other and then he suddenly wanders around unable to see people right in front of them? It's really an incredibly hilarious sight to behold.

Also to add, just because you can google hacks doesn't mean you're not going to download a hack that's already been flagged by even the lowliest anticheat or just give yourself a straight up virus.

The hacks people use that aren't flagged have to be manually spotted and are private or hidden behind paid forums.

Thing is HLL is such a small market compared to other big name games with legitimately worse AC than the free version of HLL uses (The MW2 one is incredibly insufficient for example) that the amount of people who do pay is fairly low.

Edit: And googling hacks isn't some recent thing as your title implies. The concept has been around since the beginning of online gaming. Could even go back further with cheat codes back in the day before being spread by gaming magazines and word of mouth.

Like I said, cheat hacks topics will continue because its the truth and its happening. Whatever the excuse is, its ruining the game and its rampant. Its just the HLL steam discussion is a circus. You will see same people all over with a toxic positive intent. Its funny and entertaining I keep coming back to read. Amazing.

What's been going on lately is even worse than "hacking". It's the ones who are broadcasting our nodes, garries and location to the other team via voice or streaming. It seems to be getting worse by the day.

Hide a node in a far away area, no where near the lines, doesn't matter they will come down. Simultaneous disabling of garries all over the map. Really strange things like this has been occurring on a regular basis and I am getting fed up with it. Don't think I will stay on much longer, since there really is nothing the devs can do to stop it.

Community must sell detected hacks. There is a potential Chance some new cheaters will buy this ♥♥♥♥ and get banned. Only chance to fight back a bit. Go an start a webshop.

You can search for any game and find videos on YouTube showcasing hacks. YouTube will take them down if they provide Discord names, websites or other ways of communication to purchase them. Either way, it's a known fact hacks exist and that's why most recommend playing on well-moderated community servers. That's, of course, not an ideal solution, but it's the best many games got, as reporting hackers, or even when the AC system knows about a hacker, they/it'll wait for the next banwave as to catch as many hackers in the act as possible prior to the hack developers having to readjust their exploits making them undetectable again, or finding another loophole. My guess is that a lot of hack resellers knowfully sell obsolete or detected hacks. What are you gonna do? Turn up to your bank and say you were sold a sh#tty hack? :Gachislave:

And yet you pop into the same threads constantly lying about what people have said and insulting other users.

You're welcome to point out what you consider "toxic positive intent" and we can have a discussion about it because isn't that what you said you wanted, a discussion?

While the streaming thing happens, having your nodes get dismantled especially built in your HQ or along your second line where supply trucks are able to drop supplies, is not something out of the ordinary. When I play spotter, logically I suspect engineers build their nodes as far away from the front lines as possible OR straight out from an HQ for minimal truck travel time.

Garrisons can only be built 200m apart (one grid square) so it's legitimately not hard to locate them through a little guesswork looking at the map.

This is a skill that can be taught and I'm open to hop on a unpopulated server to show you a few tricks/point out typical garrison/node locations.

It's unfortunate, but game companies have not solved this online cheater problem and have effectively thrown in the towel, it's a lost cause, the anti-cheat mechanisms.

Too much of a softy softy approach by Valve, who are in a very unique position to really make a difference, but choose not too

The issue is cheat vs anticheat is a war of attrition where one is being updated to keep things out and the other is being updated to get in.

I don't specifically know what you expect Valve to do. Force VAC into every game on the platform?

There are hackers in every FPS game. None of them are immune to hackers. I am grateful that compared to Battle Field V, HLL is a heaven. At least not so many hackers.

If you want to beat the hackers play on servers with admins. You will have to behave yourself though.
skOsH♥ Mar 31, 2023 @ 5:28am
I started playing, roughly about the time when legit games started turning into "hmmm...this doesn't feel right" games, to straight up, obvious cheating

I can't do anything about it. I hope the devs do. Their anti cheat flags Linux os so I had to refund and reluctantly play on windows, but if there's just going to be cheaters and the anticheat thinks Linux is a cheat, then well...

It's hopeless.

Cheating is occurring on servers with admins too. In fact some high ranking members of clans are also guilty of cheating and are doing so with impunity.

Admins are only a deterrent against obvious hacks like aimbot. They are mostly useless against less obvious cheats like wallhacking, maphacking and of course ghosting. I recently played on a server where I notified the admin about a Chinese wallhacker. The player wasn't kicked because the admin didn't find the evidence conclusive. Sometimes you have to be directly on the receiving end of hacking to recognise its presence which is something admins don't have access to.

Devs have been silent on the hacking problem in this game from the very start. its incredibly sad that a dev team that did so much to create such a great experience in HLL hopelessly dropped the ball when it comes to trying to combat the inevitable hacker problem. There are no in game tools to help honest players identify hackers. I have played HLL from the kickstarter days and it is clear that hacking is on the increase to the point were its having a impact on the outcome of every game played. Every game session I have had this last week has had hackers in it. I have had guys with speed hacks, invulnerability hacks and the usual map streaming. I have taken to going Rambo and placing mines all over garries and simply waiting for the hackers to arrive at garries. They always come.... No matter what Team 17 do content wise for HLL, unless they try to curtail the hacking issue the game will die a slow painful death. Its a strategic , tactical game using a huge element of stealth and guile. Hacks will simply destroy the complete experience of what makes HLL great.
