Satchel Team Killing
I keep having issues with teammates being team killed by my satchels. I will often place a satchel on a tank or a structure then repeatedly shout out in prox chat to stay far away from the tank or structure that is satcheled but no one listens. they still proceed to still go towards them and ignore me. Often a lot of people go charging towards or stays in position which leads to them being team killed and butthurt. Half the time I'm either I'm kicked or I'm likely on thin-ice. If I'm on thin-ice people will get mad and blame me despite me telling them more than twice that the tank or structure is satcheled. Why do people never listen??? I'm just sick of being kicked and blamed.

You gotta kill quite a bit to be auto-booted. The infantry near the tank are a necessary sacrifice. If they don't play with comms or ignore, that is on them.
I recommend typing it in team chat as well, some people aren't playing this with a headset or they might be running into the VoIP bug.
Satchels are like a litmus test for how brainless your teammates are.
That's because this game is now mostly console and gamepass players, who, generally speaking, aren't the brightest or most dedicated type of players on the scale. They don't use mics, they don't really get the concept of teamwork, they aren't invested 'cos it's free on gamepass etc etc...

I don't believe the blanket statement of "people are idiots" because they aren't, but when you don't understand your target demographic and you sell your hardcore semi realistic shooter to a bunch of 12 year olds with a gamepad or casuals with a gamepass subscription then you get what you get.

This is Team17's fault unfortunately.

I'd say people who think we are playing with consoles aren't the brightest.

I don't know who "we" is, or really what you meant at all if I'm honest, but the game has crossplay, so you are in fact playing with console players unless you opt out of crossplay/gamepass and make do with a couple of servers.

You can see what platform they're on in the scoreboard, and 9 times out of 10 the ones running off doing their own thing and not using a mic have a little gamepad icon.

Am I wrong?

You´re wrong No crossplay between PC and Console.

Ah my mistake! I thought crossplay included the PS5 players as well as gamepass but yeah it's just gamepass.

short version, even if it was already said countless times - the controler symbol was choosen by T17 to divide the source where you got your game from - although i never understood what purpose that has and what though was behind that decision.

steam has its own symbol, epic and microsoft (xbox is actualy a microsoft gamepass = paid membership - another stupid naming decision) dont have any own so they get the controler symbol.

and the term "crossplay" was the worste part of this "thinking" process - it only lead to this unbearable silly discussion of "cross plattform" with consoles or not.

correct answer....... NOT!

there are only consoles playing against another OR PC vs PC.

if you uncheck "crossplay" in your game settings, youll be left with a very few if any servers, 'cause nearly all have it enabled.

Right, but it still seems to be the ones with the gamepad symbol that don't get involved, so presumably that's just down to the fact that I guess the majority of them are playing it for 'free' through gamepass, so they treat it like a regular shooter rather than a team based thing, which worked pretty well in Red Orchestra 1 and 2, but only if players didn't have to build OP's and garris themselves in HLL.

Remove the whole "build some f*n garris" problem, or at least add some auto-generated spawn points near the frontline and, without removing much from the game, you solve most of its problems. Then it becomes a case of no mic? No problem! And everyone has a good time. Then remove the arty and replace them with mortars and you've got a great game where everything works when nobody has a mic, and works GREAT when people DO have a mic :)

Why waste time doing research when there's always someone like you in every thread, forum and comments section to correct everything we delusional folk say?

Honestly if it weren't for people saying something wrong on the internet, people like you would have nothing to do in your spare time!

Here's a freebie... THE SECOND WORLD WAR ENDED IN 1946. THIS IS A FACT.

well, you are currently right about the players from epic that flooded the servers, for free.

BUT.... this was already a problem during free weekend and when the gamepass users got access to the game through their membership (not free XD)

the game is not beginner friendly, and most people need 30-50 hours just to get a feeling for the game flow and that a command structure is in place - let alone other mechanics that used to make this the propper mix of casual arcardy and need to participate with your squad/team.

that is what alot of players dont research - we live in a consume world where games are "grindy" if they require you to play them (longer the 30-50 hours).
most buy games for 50€/$ and are done after 50 hours, then get the next.

teambased was a thing alot of games included but the run and gun crowd spoiled them due to the ticket mechanic and a leaderboard that made them feel important.

the part with the garrys doesnt work though, in offensive you have those prebuild garrys, and the enemy knows where they are.
building spawns is one of the parts that should have made this more unpredictable. but after a while people know, there are only so many places they can build them that make sense.

mic thing is two sided.....
one is the incapability of vivox to narrow down what bugs their programm (discord and teamspeak work fine during the game) and T17 (or black matter in the first place) to replace that VOIP with something that works = cancel the contract with Vivox!

the other is the run and gun crowd that refuses to take part in the "teamplay" and just wants to shoot stuff.
they claim to have a good time playing this, although they are doing nothing for the outcome - they could be afk for 90 minutes cause they just lock a spot for an honest player.

so this game had a very niche place for a certain kind of player - but it became to popular!

and with the free access it doesnt even require any thought about spending money (what alot dont do anyway, they just buy one game after another). this leads to a totaly messed up game until those people got bored and leave.

sadly that could be enough to spoil this already, like insurgency, sandstorm (yes two games) dod, doi...lots of others. even the old battlefields already had cap points and 4player squads.

in the end, no matter how you design a game, the player has to play as intended - he is the greatest flaw in any MP game.

i had countless discussions with RL friends that stated "i can do it, force me not to" :/ what can you say to such ignorance?

anyway, wish you good hunting ;) and no offense by my first post XD

well you are wasting far more time - yours and others - if you simply join a game where you dont have a clue about anything, and reduce it to - it has guns, its a shooter!

people like me are certainly NOT in every thread ;)

and they should not have to be, cause if you (all new players) did your research, alot of threads in this forum would be obsolete = never written in the first place!!!!!!

so people have to correct false statements - with risking to be punished by insults, belittleling and trolling from those who wait for the slightest mistake to get you reported and banned. then they can feel good and continue to spread BS all over!

i realy wasted alot of time trying to convince people of facts, but just like you now, i am missunderstood and bashed with a "people like you" and "get something to do"

and about your fact of when the war ended... we have more and wider spread wars all over the world since the so called world wars.
we dont realize it but currently we have never ending conflicts all around the world that just are not as present in the medias. still - people are killing another every friggin day - everywhere on this planet!

sorry i f i triggered you to respond hostile.
i was not calling you out, just wanted to correct some "game facts"
