Cheating: The War Thunder example.

I'm mentioning this now because a spike in the population for any game leads to massive spikes in searches for terms such as "HLL cheats". Many will search successfully.

War Thunder, say what you will about the greedy snail, is the only game I've personally seen seriously address cheating. The standard line in the community was of course "there's no cheating". Then the devs got serious and started banning literally HUNDREDS of accounts for cheating and publishing names every week for months on end.

The snail did not do this from software alone. All ac software is quite limited and can be bypassed. One factor was players watching their replays and sending in questionable shots to the devs (1200 meters through 1200 meters of trees? That sort of thing).

More importantly though, the team running the game pretty obviously did statistical analysis for players who were "too good" for lack of a better term, then focused on watching their replays. One can't really detect everything hackers are working constantly to devise on thousands of privately owned computers all over the world. OTOH, one can rather easily detect players who clearly have X-ray vision that would do Superman proud if you are willing and able to watch replays of their game play. In shooting games the removal of impediments to vision in-game is by the far the most common and least detectable cheat, rather than something obvious and silly like invincibility etc.

google war thunder cheats and 20 come up. youtube war thunder cheating and 30,000 videos come up. most tier 5 games have 1 cheater at least in them.

CHEATING is much more of an issue than HACKING in this game.

can't count the number of times i've seen someone swap teams, wander around to all the garrisons, then swap teams again after a while and suddenly our garrisons start dissappearing.... thats called CHEATING, not hacking.

with over 1700 hours in this game I have seen three hackers and that was years ago. Not saying they're not out there, but these tinfoil conspiracy nutters are out of their minds if they think its as bad as they claim

skill issue, frien.

or they're just on discord together feeding intel to the other team. either way cheating is way more frequent than hacking.

discord should be banned and made illegal in MY opinion. too many risks, especially when you see that the person who developed it is from the same country as PUTIN. just my two cents
