your cosmetics dont do anything (you dont even see them yourself XD) and the loadouts will unlock if you continue to play! not much there anyway if you dont know how to play the roles and use the equippment accordingly.
you have 66hours on the clock, but are already complaining about such irrelevant stuff as cosmetics and grinding levels.
this progression system was critizised from the beginning (wasnt there befor EA). people argued they want something to work towards. and here we are, complaining (again, you are not the first) about the "grind" to unlock loadouts and cosmetics.
if you dont play for the fun, then you are forgetting what games are made for - to waste free time with an irrelevant activity that dístracts you from real life! (my opinion)
also try to find servers where steamrolling is not mandatory, that is the biggest XP killer this game has - no time played = no XP !!
bad matches are killing this game faster then any dev can do by questionable design choices!!
the loadouts are not that relevant, and players in general wouldnt have any clue what to do with all the stuff anyway befor they learned the mechanics how to play stategie.
in the end all would run around with assault guns and dont get anything else done (what already is a major problem)
again, this is not a lone wolf roaming game, where the weapon is a gamechanging choice. alot think so, but all guns have strong and weak points. (m1 garand is probably the exception, but that was also true in real)
if someone choses a role just for the weapon, he didnt understand that role anyway and should go back to rifleman or supplier at best.
just keep enjoying to play ;) youll get there anyway.
you are a part of a team, you have a role and your gun is just a tool. yes, better tools later, but no racedriver starts with a top fuel dragster, nascar cup car or a formula one ;)
sidenote:
there are tricks to levelup roles a little faster and support the team!
one is to choose the engineer at first, build nodes and change to the role you want to play/level. all points from the nodes generating resources, will go into that class then.
play together with a supplier and build them in the farthest from the action HQ, start with the manpower node so your supplier has his crate half filled again - youll need 5 minutes and both of you get points for building and using supplies.
its faster then looking/waiting for a truck, or switching supplier, and better hidden because alot of recons search along the 2nd/3rd mapgrid border first!
