you are trying to manage a bunch of randoms who not even say hello if you dont threaten to kick, and a sometimes... lets say, emotional command chat.
if you do that for more then half of your paytime (in my case ~600hours) then you want to level other classes and maybe just play a match without all that "stress" (well not realy, depending where you play, it can be a fine match even if you are herding cats XD).
once you got the basics, playing SL can help alot to understand the game and how it flows, but nobody wants to be stuck in only one role ;) the game has more to offer
then one of those people you describe tries to tell me what to do
To top that off I'm usually in discord with my friends, and you have squad chat, and command chat. It's hard to balance 3 separate voice audio sources coming at you. Most of the time when I am squad lead I only hear about 1/4 what my squad is saying to me because there's someone screaming in command or someone talking in discord so I feel like I'm not even being an effective leader.
For example, you can have 6 Infantry squads with Six AT roles.
Or; you could open up double the amount of squads, have twice as many OPs, and the ability to now deploy 12 Rockets instead of 6.
It's my wholehearted belief that the largest disservice this game does, is that it fails to explain its own freedom and systems to the players of the game.
If players understood this game, we would ALL get anxiety on fewer than 5 garrisons, or with a lack of AT blueberries when Armour appears.
Nodes would be placed during the warmup phase, and then those players would just re-deploy on a forward garrison to join the rest of the team.
Officers will ask for garrisons and not have a support player in their squad, and yet I'll have a game that constantly has maxed out garrisons because officers will just do their job and build them. HLL suffers from that lazy player mentality of "Nah, someone else will get it", and then no one gets it and the game folds, then that player will just say "GG, no one build garrisons".
Game starts, everyone goes and sits in a truck until the timer is down. When the 6 infantry squads could actually use that time building 6 nodes, but they won't.
But right now, what worries me the most are:
That immortal player who runs past a bunch of teammates, and nobody sees him wiping everyone out.
Or that guy who’s literally face-to-face with you, eats an entire MG burst, doesn’t die, and still manages to kill you and everyone nearby
Do you mean cheaters ?
Maybe they should give you class exp for other classes based on what classes your squad used while you were SL"
This needs to happen, the only reason I do not want to SL right now as I've maxed leveled it.
to avoid the whole XP discussion (what was predicted) they should simply remove the silly loadout thing or enable them without grinding XP in that class/role.
BUT....
this changes nothing for players unwilling to choose the squadleader or commander. they will still refuse to do that and wait for someone to create an unlocked squad.
the only thing that could help is to inform the players what this game is about (yeah right pew, pew :/ ). that way those casuals who just want to shoot s**t would know that this is not what they are looking for.
hopefully some studio will jump on the WW2 train and make another silly casual game on tiny chokepoint maps so we get rid of those run and gun "bots"!
I finally hit lv 30 yesterday and played 2 matches as commander, we ate ♥♥♥♥ in both of them and half the players tried to blame me, and half of them were saying it wasn't my fault
It kinda sucked because I spent the entire match calling supplies for garries, spawning supply trucks, halftracks and calling recon
