Server Concerns / Skin Heads (Self Proclaimed Aryans) / Ban (*Threats, seriously concerned)

Afternoon everyone. I'm pretty disturbed and upset enough that I feel the need to write this post, but I think it's incumbent upon everyone who is witness to, or observes certain activities to step up when the time comes and do what's "right". In all honestly I'm very disheartened because, there's an old saying "all that's necessary for evil to succeed, is for good men to do nothing".

I was on a server and in a platoon in this game yesterday evening; can't remember which one, and I don't think my server history shows it. Regardless, I'd gotten fragged (grenade) once by an individual (scumcel), then I'd been shot a second time by this individual. Now I'm not going to play completely innocent here, after the second team kill I shot the guy once in the leg (didn't kill him) and told him "hey, enough with the team killing and shooting aimlessly or throwing grenades in a crowd of friendlies".

This individual (scumcel) then shot and killed me. I told my platoon leader about everything that happened (7th Cav, was I think his name... this guy is truly an upstanding person). He went on to talk to the other person who was blaming me for the situation (of course two sides to every story). Scumcel then proceeded to create his own platoon so he could talk directly to command to try to get me banned, while I went through the chain of command and my platoon leader fought for me the entire way.

Meanwhile (scumcel) proceeded to taunt me, follow me etc., and followed me up some stairs into a house where I killed an enemy... when I turned around I saw him and fired (I missed), I hopped on the vacinity coms and said "Hey sorry about that almost hit you"... I didn't know it was this scumcel guy taunting again, at this point I was on the horn to my platoon leader saying that this guy is constantly trying to initiate a fight... as I was calling it in, this guy shot and killed me, a third time. My platoon mates took it upon themselves, to platoon with this guy and then started going after him... I just let it go and didn't want to get involved; he got extremely pissed.

Now, none of this wouldn't bother me all that much until it started to affect my gameplay experience, I'd let things go, but this guy just couldn't. The match ended, and that's ok I just went on to the next match. When I just happened to platoon up and this guy again decides to platoon with me, then starts to call me out on coms as a "pedophile", grabs my name (not my real name) off my profile, creates a bogus instagram page then says I've got pedophile pictures up. This is starting to get far more serious...

Over voice coms in the next game he starts saying that he's found my address, then will DOX me, etc. Yeah still not afraid, but I do take certain accusations seriously since I'm a 'white-hat' and don't take kindly anything so seriously. After asking this kid "who the hell are you to be talking this way about someone"... Scumcel's response back was "I'm a skin head, an Aryan brother"... now normally again, I wouldn't take such a statement so seriously... however....!!!!

Looking at this persons profile, is a different story, and with threats of violence and dox'ing against me, now I'm taking this far more seriously. On this persons profile is him in a mask in several pictures holding a guns, and anti-black cartoons, certain neo-N--i clothing etc. He's got pictures of his boot calling them "n----- stompers" and another picture portraying him "curb stomping" someone of color. This proclamations were also in the voice chat in the follow-up match; this is what seriously bothers me.

So in the next match not a single person stepped forward (even admin "DAVE"), as this behavior was going on. It wasn't until I started pointing out things to "DAVE" in Scumcel's profile, and the obvious seriousness of what was transpiring that "DAVE" (again admin) tried to get a vote to get this guy banned. In the meantime, Scumcel kept taunting, talking about me being a pedophile, and trying to DOX me, as well as find personal information.

So, I wanted to come here to the approach admins, devs, and others to discuss, before I go up the chain of command and formally write a letter to the dev team, steam, and ask my wife (attorney) to put this in the mail to you folks. The real problem was when I defended myself in the second match (all of my platoon mates who defended me left), I started telling this "Aryan Brother" to stop acting like a clown, and enough with the "pedophile" comments, and started ripping into him... not only was Scumcel banned, but I was as well.

My team mates were all but silent for the most part, it's really disgusting and rather frightening when people as a whole see some pretty sick stuff go down, and NO ONE is willing to step forward and say enough, or put this misguided person in their place; when someone starts talking "Aryan, and flashing guns around", they're not a kid anymore, you get treated like a man. Now, I myself, because my wife is in the legal field, have guns in the household, so I'm not afraid to get those out an fortify.

The fact of the matter is that I shouldn't have to; especially over a silly game. Really disappointed in the community, the admins, and the commander at the time who let this escalate to such an unsorted and obvious mess with potential real world consequences. Again, normally I wouldn't be as critical, but I live in Utah and so does this disturbed person (Park City). There could be serious consequences.

P.S. I think this is a link to his profile... he's had several pictures banned (probably racist), and his been banned from other games as well.

4. This is not the place to report things like this. We including the developer have no infulence on servers unless the break license requirements.

Thanks, I'm not embelishing, which is frightening. I don't know the name of the server anymore; is there a way I can find out what server this was (I was banned as well).

Yeah I'm avoiding the game in total, going back to Battlebit for awhile. Just need to know how to get the server information; then will report the information to them.

Hopefully server history does show which one you played on, but make sure you avoid Official servers because they aren't moderated.

Well, I think this would be a breech of licensing, allowing something like this to happen.

He's just some guy. The only people you can talk to are the staff of the server, and maybe Steam. I don't think any company at all could be responsible for any interactions you may have online, and it just comes down to someone breaking a "rule" and being reported for it. Community servers are moderated by the staff of those communities. Its not the sort of thing where that guy is just going to get banned from the game entirely.

if your idea of taking threats seriously is posting on steam forums then you don't sound very serious

you can submit anonymous tips to the FBI on their website (https://tips.fbi.gov/home), or call Utah Highway Patrol and probably speak with someone about it so they can assess if its credible. probably makes more sense to do UHP or your local police because you can talk to a person directly.

a lot of nutjobs on the internet because there is the illusion of anonymity. that's all it is is an illusion. it's obvious that the person doesn't have your real information. maybe your state or general metro area. not sure how easy it is to get IP addresses from players connected to a server but it's clearly possible.

really wouldnt worry about it unless it escalates. utah has a lot of people in it. some will be like this person. anonymity also makes some people express more extreme views, even if they don't necessarily hold them in reality. forget what it's called but it's some psychological thing.

the person has probably already forgotten about your interaction. obvious that they have done this thing before.

Obviously, he's not just a complete nutcase, but he has serious mental health issues.

If this was in 7cav's server I'd be pretty astonished if he's not perma'd for that profile alone. I'll DM them the thread and see.
