on the upside performance is MUCH better for me (maybe its the fact that i upgraded system idk )
its often those "better rigs" that cant get an acceptable settings/performance compromize.
they are mostly the ones sceaming and yelling how bad all is, and all others have to suffer for their incabability to setup and maintain a frelling gaming PC and use settings that will work ingame :/
but LOD and distance rendering was never realy good.
its an UE4 issue and there is not much more to gain, no matter how mighty and overly expensive hardware you (others) use.
not alot notice that word anymore, same with frack what came from the '78 BSG show ;)
not sure if it was that much better befor :/ its a limmit the game engine sets.
maybe the devs have tried to reduce some rendering to smoothen the performance (a little XD)
they do work on certain items every update, when you look at the natchpotes. but just tiny steps, very slow progress.
They definitely made some LOD changes for the worse, but player render distance is locked at 500m (for infantry) so there's no reason to increase the "view distance" setting in-game.
It's really bad on Elsenborn, some of the barbed wire stop tank shells only in one direction. Stuff not rendering at 200m is a joke in 2024. We shouldn't have to memorize what renders where (and on which map because it's not consistent across them!) in order to play armor at a high level.
A lot of the stuff T17 gets ♥♥♥♥ for is minor quibbling, but the render distance issues are horrendous and make the game look like a joke compared to the competition.
There are likely things that can be done without sacrificing visuals too much. Like my gpu is only being used between 30-60% in 1440p ultra (RTX 4080). I can't get past the 100-120fps "barrier".
