Does leveling up do anything?
I know that upgrading the classes unlocks things. But since that is not something i will be able to do, does the overall lvl of my profile unlock anything? Or is it more for show?

cosmetics, your overall level unlocks the other outfits - the regular, not the dlcs.

and why wouldnt you level up classes?

that goes alongside all leveling when you just play - maybe stick to one role instead of switching every respawn, so the points go into that one class.

You will level up classes as long as you stick to one for a while. It doesn't take many rounds to get level 3 in a class, so just pick one and play it.

Bonus is that you'll actually learn what the classes are for rather than be one of those supports who are running way behind the lines sniping stragglers while your SL screams for a supply box.

I guess that makes sense. I know that i will at some point level up a class. It is just a really long grind.
Matches are really long and I get maybe 300 exp per match. Currently at lvl 2 for anti-tank but still around 10-15 matches away from lvl 3.

I dont care for cosmetics so at least i dont have to worry about my player lvl.

Oh I'm not here to defend the grind. It took me 700 hours to get to level 10 in the 5 classes I wanted to.

But I did enjoy that 700 hours or I'd have just moved on.

Granted few require you to get to level 10 for all unlocks but that was just a personal goal. As you get higher in ranks in a class levels take longer, and 9-10 takes AGES.

I dont think i will make it to there lol. I am just hoping that the game will be somewhat enjoyable once i upgrade a class.

Might be able to get lvl 3 for anti tank this week, if i can get luck to get the to use the class.

Level up squad lead allow you to use binor and semi automatic rifle to snipe people in some way.

It gives the impression you know what you are doing.

i see one of your issues here, getting only 300xp for a 90minute match is realy low :/

currently its more a flaw of the playerbase that is incapable to gather 2 equaly (good or bad) teams and fight a propper match over 90 minutes.
if you get into such a match you can make 1500xp at average, depending on win or loss (25%/50% bonus at the end calculation - ALWAYS wait till that is done befor ending the game)

there is one way to make alot more XP and help the team.

first... start as engineer, build all 3 nodes (limmited to 3 sets per team) and then switch to the role you like to play and level.
all points from generating resources the commander needs will go into that role then.

to stay ahead of others with the same idea XD....

all try to get the supply truck first, but that can only drop behind the 3rd mapgrid line. that is where recons will look for them first, later.
it also has the flaw that if you dont build the structures in the second gridline, they will be lost when your second point falls. you have a 50m radius to build so dropping on the 3rd line and moving back to build is possible, but they are also often wide open and easy to find for recons.

you can also try to convince your supporter to spare 5minutes (dont swap through the role, its faster and gives you two the wanted XP and the rest of the squad can go cap the middle point).
then spawn at the HQ the farthest aways from all action or last cap, build at first the manpower node.
your suppliers crate will be half filled if he stays in 50m radius, so it will take 5minutes to fill it twice again and build all 3 nodes. he can use his hammer too and help for xp.
if he already leveled up to have ammo crates, you can lay down more mines to protect the nodes by filling up from his explosive crate.

that will give both of you already some points before you even go to the front ;)

the nodes are also better hidden from the recons that will have to walk another 400m and stay covert.
and best is to build them a little apart so a satchel cant blow up all at once (30m)

now this sounds like alot, but with some experience you get this done in 5 minutes, generate important resources for the whole team, and gain alot more XP for any role you play after that.

good hunting and keep your head down XD

edit:
if you havent found this yet, some answers are in here too.

Yeah, i figured it was low. I did have a 1,000xp game recently because i was finally able to find and take out a scout/light tank.

Kind of sad to see that the main advice seems to be to use what appears to be an exploit/bug.

In any case, I am going to keep trying to get to lvl3 anti-tank. Just have to hope that the other team wants to use tanks :)
