What happened to this game?
I played years back. Was a lot of fun, good team work, everyone used a mic.

Now I can't find a single person speaking, there's ZERO team coordination, & everyone is a rambo,

I've played since early-early access. Your recollection is incorrect. Still fun, but teamwork and lack of comms has always been a problem.

It was added to Gamepass.

Nope, where people downloaded the game from makes no difference to their willingness to cooperate.

If a game is freely available to you, you have less obligation/drive/care to do things properly, acquire a mic, etc. It does make a difference.

This game never had team communication. It has always been made for the casual audience. If you want teamwork and coordination, play Squad 44.

When I played S44, command chat and local chat were both dead silent for the entire match lmao

Do you proof of this? Because there are so many videos on HLL where there is zero team communication. Every server in S44 has communication, especially command chat.

No, I didn't download/boot up recording software when I was playing S44 so I could have proof of people not talking in S44. Most HLL games I get into have communication in command chat, at worst its just a bit quiet(Typically because there's no commander to engage with).

Mabee you should have a read of the kickstarter for this. The game wasn't always made for casual audiences.
The game was made as a tactical shooter and changed through development to be more casual.
No progression, limited loadouts, no weapon unlocks, larger maps.
Blackmatter were, to quote them "a team of realism and World War Two fans"

These servers, Easy Company and [82AD] Band of Brothers have their own clans. You'd expect communication in these clan servers but there are none. Locked squads do their own communication but they are locked for many reasons including knowing majority of the HLL players do not like taking orders from their squad leader.

There are so many videos and topics discussing on the lack of team communication in HLL. Here's a gameplay video from 3 years ago. Not a single person used comms.

Yes, I've seen a post quoting Hell Let Loose was going to be a "First person World War 2 combined arms" but it turned out to be a Call of Duty game with some hardcore mechanics.

Probably because he disconnected from VOIP for the video. People in the game typed in chat referencing someone "Yelling" in comms, and the creator of the video even acknowledged cutting out comms when thanked for doing it.
I even play on Easy Company and never have the issues you're talking about lol.

Its luck based. Sometimes you find people with mics other times you won't.

Not from my experience. Xboxers are just as likely to be engaged with the game.

Depends on the server and time of day. And the team you are on... and sales. I had a guy the other day kick people for not having a mic. This is the way.

No one "disconnects" VOIP for a gameplay video. You'll keep giving excuses but everyone who plays this game knows there is little to no communication in HLL.
