How is performance still this bad?

I stopped playing the game a little after they added in the soviets, mainly due to how much my fps tanked on the launch maps in Russia. I come back, and im STILL not getting over 80fps on medium texture and low shadows with a new build from when i last played?? GPU usage is still much lower than it should be and setting changes makes little to no difference, sometimes i get 100fps looking at the floor, others i get 40 ish fps looking into the distance.

Old rig was near the same, 9900k, RTX 3080, 32GB DDR4 3600mhz and a SSD.

Out of interest, what hardware are you guys using and what FPS are you reaching? I want to know if my account is just cursed or if its a more wide spread issue, i also found it funny that in the latest update they said they address performance issues, curious as to what those were lol,

I dunno. Something is wrong here. I'm getting much better performance on similar hardware. 60~90 fps.

The usual start commands
and THIS:
If you have win 10 or win 11 do this:
go to settings/system/display/graphics/
Browse desktop apps.
Go to the steamappsfolder/common/Hell Let Loose/
HLL .exe. Highlight and add this file.

Once on the list, highlight it and set it
for high performance. (never realtime)

Restart your computer.

Set your in game resolution to whatever
you monitor can handle.

Run the game with an FPS counter and
observe the performance.

This is not a magic wand. Your hardware
will vastly determine the outcome. But
it should help.

Sometimes it comes down to the hardware lottery and how well they play together. I could have the exact same system as someone else where it might run like ♥♥♥♥. Game ran well prior to this update and now runs better. I had the opposite effect then you.

wat i have a 2080 super and i5 10400f and getting 70 to 80 fps at max settings 1200p, it only stutters when loading into a new map cause the game is loading in the assets

Performance was good before and now the patch made it even more smooth.

They have removed certain shadow effects on maps, for example if you go into buildings now they are not as dark as before etc.

MSI laptop, RTX 3050 4GB, i5-11400H, 16GB RAM - after patch it runs so smooth on60-70 FPS, i had like 2 micro stutters during yeterdays evening.

and wait for it, fps jumps 120-160 depending on map. But biggest issue is micro stuttering, which I don't know how to fix

i9-10900K heavy all-core 5.2GHz oc + 4.9GHz uncore, watercooled 3080Ti heavy OC + optimized memory, game is not using GPU resources. GPU utilization is jumping around 40-90% and getting stutters + bad fps overall. The performance has been my main concern of the game, and even after a few years, they still haven't done anything significant to improve performance, which is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ disappointing and the lag is sometimes ruining immersion and my enjoyment of the game.

I could deal with 90-120fps if it was consistent, but the stutters and huge under utilization of my (and everyone elses) hardware capabilities is just sad at this point. They probably could go the easy route and slap FSR and DLSS capabilities, forget the real optimization but it doesn't seem like they really even care at this point, it's been so long. I don't need more maps or content coming out, focus on fixing the engine and then polish and garnish with additional content.

SOUNDS LIKE YOUR PC IS JUST OUTDATED. i used to play on a laptop 2070 and was able to run it fine on very high settings.

now i got a 4080 desktop and runs even better.

Try to tinker with your graphics settings and see if you'll get improvements this way.

this game squad and post scriptum all have the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bad performance. not a thing of hardware but of spaghetti code.

latest update didnt do ♥♥♥♥ to performance just about nothing changed as is with squad and ps too. there are only minimal barely noticeable changes happening.

there are some very rare instances / quiet corners of a map where the game runs as intended but anywhere else its larded with bugs thatll drop fps all over the place.

anyone who claims this game runs flawless is delusional. suggesting some dudes here run outdated hardware is utterly ridiculous and embarassing.

why not go ahead and tell the devs they can seize all work done right now as you will become their new lead performance programmer as the smartest guy in the world.

have a look at these, same applies to hll and ps. was reported 1 year ago and most of it is still around and not getting fixed. it will be like that for another 1 or 2 years or even more.

on one side this and many other games are killed by their owners at the software level and the degree to what and how it is happening cant be explained my mere coincidence but is a clear sign of recklessness paired with incapability.

and why does it run on your outdated old laptop but not one other "outdated rigs" in here?

you have some special way to ripen your rig in the oak barrell?

It seems some rig combinations have problem in HLL or something cause the rig I have gets absolutely no stutters except when it's loading assets in a new map at the start after that no stutters smooth 80 fps and on forest maps fps is at 65 or 70 and that to at max settings.
Also Squad performance is miles worse then HLL, constant stuttering in Squad man and 40 fps aswell

Also OP u didn't list which Res were u playing at cause if it's in 4k resolution then that might be the reason for 40 fps, your rig should be getting 120 plus fps in 1080p and 80 plus in 1440p at max settings
