No, the ads would essentially piss off a good chunk of the community. Gaming is supposed to be a getaway from everyday life. We already have ads being shoved down our faces everywhere else. It is not a bad idea at the end of the day but some of us just want to enjoy the game.

I do agree ads suck, but does it suck more than a empty blank screen? no.
does it suck cz it reminds you of ads on youtube? sure, but it presents new opportunities for the devs.
what about considering the devs opportunity to make more money? which in turn will potentially promote faster/better updates?

Put ads in a pay to play game and I will demand a refund immediately regardless of how many hours I have.

If you don't like staring at a blank screen for 30 seconds, pick up your phone and look at some ads if yuo enjoy them so much.
