Or just ♥♥♥♥ quality mics....
The inability to adjust the channels independently is a major gripe, especially when someone is far too loud in Command comms, but is too quiet in Squad or Proxy comms.
i literally had games where one person can hear me fine while another hears me too loud and a third almost doesnt hear me at all
all at the same time
changing your personal settings rarely gives you the desired outcome
this alongside with the fact that the VoIP keeps killing itself in this game over and over
basically leads me to the realisation that the voice system they are using is utter garbage
if this is either due to the devs having it badly implemented or if its an inherent fault within the voip-programm itself i dont know ... but the results speak for itself ... voip in this game is awful
P.S. This makes it very difficult to play the Officer Roles. So I tend to choose a different roles these days...
This game have the worst in-game voice chat i've ever seen to be honest.
Besides the normal microphone volume most will have a microphone boost options at +0db, +10db,+20db,+30db. What setting to choose here will vary widely depending on your setup.
Most people will probably be at +10 or +20. The downside with to high of boost is people can hear background noise and worse case voice clipping (its so loud it removes aka clips) part of your voice.
Personally I recommend downloading a free program called Audacity and record yourself at the normal volume you play games at and play it back. Adjust your settings accordingly. This program has sound meters to hear how loud you are. Try to be in the -12 to -6 db range.
Side note a db change of 10 is actually 10x the power change however we humans experience this as a 2x as loud.
