What is the actual pc requirements?
I get 40ish fps with a 4070 ti super that drops during combat and stutters when you fire the gun. Do you need 5 4090's running to play at Epic settings to get a stable fps?

I pass these as game arguments through steam: "-dx12 -USEALLAVAILABLECORES" By default this game uses DX11 which probably isn't a priority for GPU companies to spend hardware on anymore so forcing the game to DX12 might help. Right click the game and hit the properties and try them out. If the game gets worse just remove them after. I play this at 3840x1600@144Hz on a 3090 and i7-13700k w/ 64GB of DDR5-SDRAM.

It is usually the CPU that is the bottleneck on the UE 4

i play on a I5 4670 (7years old now) 16Gb ram (1666Mhz) with a gtx 1060 (6Gb) in 1k and get my 60-80 fps all the time.

its not only your hardware, you have to adjust your settings.
most common problem is that people just choose all epic (because they paid a fortune on their mighty gaming pc) and think all is good - sry, a flawed game cant be fixed that way.

reduce your settings, in all games since the beginning, you had to make a choice between looks and performance - it that already forgotten nowadays?
@Sturm is correct, UE4 is one of the problems you have to adapt to.

i didnt post this in a long time and there are other performance guides out there you should look for.

HLL settings

Steam Library, right click on HLL, choose properties.
at the bottom is a field/box with an advise only to use as experienced user ;)
copy and paste or type at least following into that field:

-12dx -USEALLAVAILABLECORES -malloc=system

Fullscreen windowed native resolution - if not too high, some say it runs better on fullscreen, test what you can use better.
deactivate SSAO and Motion Blur ingame, choose Community TAA and the rest is depending on your hardware.
max textures and view distance is advised, the rest as high as your rig can handle. effects and shadows cost power, so you can fiddle around till youre satisfied.

not all will have a result with the following, but this is a basic windows setting all games should have:

in windows/settings/system/sceen, scroll down to graphic settings, turn on the acceleration, and search for the HLL exe, set that to high performance

in case of stuttering ingame, i have found that pressing esc and waiting a few seconds often solves the worst, but stay hidden.

my personal settings:

gameplay:
FPP-Projectile off
despawn corpse: 0.5min

video:
Fullscreen windowed
fullscreen scale 100%
v-sync off
texture epic
schadows low
AA comunity TAA
AAquality high
fx quality high
view distance epic
vegetation epic
post process high
ssao off
motion blur off

have fun ;)

Man does not live by GPU alone. If you don't have a matching capable CPU and abundant resources, this game will still bring a system to its knees.

The game is horribly optimized. It doesn't matter that you have a 4070ti. You'll get the same performance on that card as on a 2060.

I have a Ryzen 9 5900X and 32gb of 3200 ram and an m2. Seems like a blatant lie to even have 'epic' settings when you can only use them in single player while standing still and looking at dirt with zero movement on the screen.

What are the system requirements?
"I......... I......... uh........... u.......... sorry, had to close the game before I can speak otherwise I get 10fps, yes you get 10fps on our recommended settings and we all play with 10fps in online shooters"

I get much better performance with a 3080 ti and a liquid cooled i9 9900k. Your system seems up to the task though. I think you are doomed to suffer in solitude if you can't find a resolution.

Try playing with your GPU driver settings. I'm on AMD and use scaling and frame generation and get close to 200 FPS. Most graphics settings are on high, save for the ones that genuinely handicap you.

I play on a 4070 and I get over 100 FPS maxed out in 4k. I get stutters every 40 seconds so i turned it down to medium high. If I had some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ monitor I could max this game easily.

I bought a new PC with Ryzen 9 7950 X3D and a RTX 4080 Super and I finally get 150 plus frames. 6 years of playing this game at 60 or so frames and it took a top CPU and near top GPU to actually have it play properly.
