it really feels like a cash grab, its genuinely awful. Ive stopped playing the game, and likely will switch to squad 44 because the decisions they have been making have been ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
You're forgetting that when you pay $50 for HLL it also gives you the ability to buy almost a dozen DLC packs, which just shows their commitment to the game!
Well, we've found team17 director of ass kissing. This game has become a joke and certainly not worth its price tag. As far as your "dozen DLC Packs' go, all useless cosmetic BS that does nothing to enhance the diminishing game play.
im 99.9999% sure hes being sarcastic
We're deep in the cashgrab stage. This is run by a few interns using some canned chat GPT apologies with orders from management to push paid content to the top.
For HLL:
However with > 1350 hours in game, my total hourly spend is still around $0.08 per hour.
The core issue for me is whether I would recommend/gift to anyone else (at any price) and the answer is no - because the devs are not making any serious effort to address cheating **.
** - I don't know how many people cheat in HLL, I suspect a single digit percentage, but I won't recommend a game where there is basically no chance (careful) cheaters will get banned.
probably the best £24.99 i have ever spent on a game but hiking the price to £50 is totally NOT worth it.
Shortsighted way of looking at it. Let me give you more things to consider than if OP purchased the game for a lower price or not.
First off, T17 did not announce another price increase, HLL's base price went up in May of this year from $45 to $50 with not a word mentioned from them. This is something that a developer should always mention as it's not a good look to silently bump up the entry cost of the game. A quarrel with the price tag and the developers in this case is one and the same.
And second, potential new players looking to buy the game, what any MP only game needs to stay active, are going to see the price and the plethora of problems the game faces and have to consider if it's worth the hassle. Equally, for 50 dollars, HLL is competing with the cost and time of other games for a similar price.
And a reminder that this game is not new player friendly, and a single full match just about hits the 2 hour refund limit making it a really risky purchase. Oh and raising the price also makes sales less appealing as the price is still higher than it was before. This is on top of the last cosmetic DLC being priced 7 dollars more than usual.
Think of the price hike as another act to demonstrate the "quarrel" he would have with the developers rather than something that very directly impacts him personally.
