currently got an i7-5820k, x99s sli plus motherboard, 1660ti
Try to find you a used 2080 (ti) if possible. if not get yourself one of those 12gb vram 3060's . Do NOT buy a 4060 unless it's heavily discounted.
Any opinions on amd 6700xt. Saw you could get a brand called xfx and are selling the 6700xt for $329
But it seems there are not as many gains running most settings at the lowest one would think if that is your goal.
For 1080p, a or 2080(S) minimum, 3060 ideal. Looking forward a 6800xt or 3070(ti) will give you ~100fps on most maps when you get to 2k and even somewhat decent at 4k.
Quite a few gpu comparisons on youtube to help you choose, 60-70+fps should be your goal otherwise you will get the eventual gameplay killing frame drops, often when zooming in.
CPU does not have as much impact so gpu should be your financial focus.
I was able to run this game on my older 1660ti laptop version fairly well just tinkering with settings, so an actual 1660ti should do much better.
Anyway, on newgg there are plenty of RTX4060 around 300 USD. I wouldn't vouch for anything less (or whatever the AMD equivalent is). Going from 1660ti to 4060 is HUGE, speaking from my own experience.
I will say though, your CPU will likely be holding you back with a GPU upgrade.
tbf I run an i5 9600k with a 3090 lol . I see no problem here .
