MEDIC is the worst class
Thsi discussion was on another forum so i just copied here:

Medic in HLL is a mixed bag for me. Fun when it goes well but it gets ruined by ungrateful teammates or salty ones who take it personally when you didn't revive them. The expectations some teammates have of you to throw your life away to revive ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with zero self-preservation are quite remarkable. It's not always bad but sometimes it's just more stress than it's worth when your role suddenly becomes the most difficult one to play because doing your job means leaving cover and relying on a thin veil of smoke to allow you to revive someone in an exposed area with multiple enemies guns trained on you whereas every other role has the luxury of not having that sense of urgency. Plus you can be trying your hardest to save people but still get verbally abused, team killed or even voted out of the match. It's just more a chore than it is gun which I guess is why people hardly play medic in that game.

@the_nard_dog On top of that, respawning is almost always faster than waiting for a revive and you get like no ammo as a medic.
Its really the most useless class.
I usually call these selfish pricks what they are and so far I have never been thrown out of a squad or match because of it.

Agree with both of you. Gave up the game just because of those reasons.
The game system simply wasn't designed for a medic to be effective at all. Why would wait 3-4 mins for someone to ress you with half of the hp (yeah, you need to heal after being ressed) if you can respawn within 20s fully healed + fully loaded? Also, medics only carry a crappy hand gun, a simple bad rifle and 2 smokes, also the germans are the weakest as their rifle takes a lot more time to shoot and reload, their smoke takes a lot more to cook up. So generally playing as medic beyond being frustrating, stressing and demanding, it depends heavily on the team to be able to do anything. It is like playing the game on hard mode, as if the game isn't hard enough.

I agree with one of the youtuber that having a good outpost location is better than having a medic in your squad. You can spawn faster and you will not loose an extra firepower in your squad. Plus, there is really no death penalty in HLL unlike games like Squad or Post Scriptum/Squad 44. I stopped using the Medic Class after I got my Desmond Doss achievement.

Medics are good if you're doing a wide flank with a squad, grunts go first with the medic and sl bringing up the rear.
There's always a bush wookie but when they give their position away by dropping a member the squad they're easily dealt with.
Problem is the sl has very few options to control the squad, you have to be dead to kick a non responding squad member and unless you lock the squad (leaving you short handed because players hardly ever asks to join a squad midgame) they just rejoin.
The only way to sort of run a squad is op placement to control where the squad spawns.
So in short the worst role in the game is squad leader which I played 99% of the time so I know what I'm talking about.
Trash game design by incompetent devs.

Medic works fine as designed, and it's a good way to level up. As you might imagine, you will spend more time crawling and healing than anything else.

Let's be honest, for nearly 2 decades the medic was an OP class; it was given an effective firearm, sufficient ammo, and could revive and/or heal.

But how realistic is it to expect a person to eat a 30-06 bullet, get a morphine syringe, bandage and continue fighting the Huns?

It's just we got accustomed to that being the reality for so many similar titles. Now when you have to adapt to the new realities, people instead want more ammo for the medic, or some ability for the medic to be revived by any other class; or grenades, etc...

This is a game that quite literally doesn't value your life. If you die, we only lose several manpower - but even if we're at Zero, the match doesn't end; we just can't call in Airheads, or reinforcement on the capture point. You still get to spawn in.

If I die, and my squad can locate the threat, then my death was worth it; I'll be back on the OP in 20 seconds or so. If we need supplies, that's so much more important than you throwing smokes and reviving 2-3 players. Get us a garrison so we can bring in 25+ players.

I think medic would be a better class to play if you were only responsible for reviving/healing your squad mates. There is too much pressure on the person playing the class to take unacceptable risks to heal/revive blue berries. Seems like it would help keep random squads together more.

its a rifleman with a med kit

HLL is a grossly immature game: ♥♥♥♥ weapons, hierarchy that subjugates lesser players and admins who often are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. quite often I quit mid game because of glitches and personalities of players.

im lvl 4 medic approaching lvl 5. I love it. nothing needs to change. just use your class appropriately and know its limit and responsibilities within your squad and you'll be fine. My garand as the US medic is a solid weapon and i one tap targets with ease. my main weapon is my ability to heal, and if i have an opportunity to clear out an area I do so, otherwise I let my heavier gunned squadmates do clean up of the area first and I back them with rezzes and heals.

The fact that you claim the american medic runs a m1 garand tells me everything I need to know lmao. You can only one tap with your "Carbine"............. at 50 meters which 85% of engagements in this game are well beyond that distance. On top of that, which war did they supply anyone with 2 magazines in their entire gear?..............................

M1 carbine. I stand corrected. I went and checked to confirm. It's been a good week since I last played. my bad, so shift your sandy vagina into neutral please. A good portion of engagements are within 50 meters or so and with a well placed shot to the head when in towns, village centers etc. bing! dead. anything beyond that, I can always pull the trigger again lol. and You can infact 1 tap a person from more than 50 m away with a well placed shot lol.

how far that is, not sure I didn't break out the measuring tape. lol. Secondly 2 magazines into war? that is why you use team work with your squad so you get more ammo if you need it. so go draft and fight a real life war if you want more ammo. lol. it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game dude, it's not that serious.

In order to play Medic correctly find the guy with the most ridiculous name and when you are rezzing him you say something like "Hold on Beef Mittens I got you!" or "You're going to be okay Jizzler, stay with me!"

This is for the morale of the team and you cannot lose if done correctly.

That being said, it would be nice if our only other load out wasn't just our sidearm only and no smokes. Basically there is 1 load out.
