Leveling up AT is mildly anoying
I was playing AT as a Russian last night and it hit me, typically leveling AT even with a shoulder fired rocket, it kinda of sucks. Reason being is you get no score unless you actuallly blow the tank up. So if you put multiple rockets into it but someone comes along and puts one into it you get literally nothing for your work.

Now we look into Russian AT and its even WORSE. 18 shots to take out a heavy tank (all shooting the ass), 7 just for the recon tank.... so i got to thinking. Whats a way for AT to start earning some XP without having to last hit a tank? Then it hit me, why doesn't disabling parts of the tank give XP. For instance, if I'm using the PTRS and I shoot a heavy and disable its engine, or shot a rocket and disabled a turret, or shot a track and track it. Why do none of these things earn any XP at all for an AT. Your doing your role, straight up destroying a tank shouldn't be the only thing that gives XP. as disabling a tank is also equally as effective many times causing a tank to back off and fix itself up.

Just my 2 cents on the subject.

I couldn't agree more but would mean the devs would have to get off there butts and do some work. On the other hand your helping the team and does xp really matter?

I mean the XP matters to me because i select my role often based off what i have to llevel up. meaning i play 90% of the games as support, AT, or Assault right now. I just noticed that AT has a glaring issue leveling it up in that you often dont get XP for your contributions.

Build some nodes as Engineer, and those nodes will give you 30xp, per node, per minute (90xp every minute with 3 built) and then switch back to AT - it will then give you XP for your Anti-Tank class; that way you're always getting XP.

And the thing about not getting the XP unless you get the kills... well that all washes out the longer you play.

Sometimes you're the one to track the tank so others can satchel it, other times you get the satchel kills because someone else tracked them first.

good to know about engi, I'll likely start abusing that as well.

But all in all, it shouldn't be a wash, you should get rewards for contributing as your class in what is already a grueling grind as is. As someone who is at least level 5 in most classes, getting to 9 is a grind (400+ hours to get to where I'm at already without using farming servers) At the least AT should get recognition for the work they do because theres some games I'm literally doing 90% of the work against tanks for someone else to get the XP time and time again. I play for wins not XP farming, but i do choose my classes around that and play my role to a T. The fact of the matter is, most games I'm getting a good 10 hits on tanks damaging them, but because people rarely play support or other roles to help, i usually lose out on the XP to someone just shooting their 1 rocket in a severally damaged and disabled tank. I get nothing for that and its, quite frankly, stupid.

Generally the XP distribution needs a complete overhaul.

I'll also say that if you want to level AT, just do it when you're on other factions or specifically only hunt Recon tanks and trucks if you insist on playing it at early levels on Soviets, at least until you unlock satchels.

Something that might help you as Soviet AT on Stalingrad: With the buildable AT gun loadout (the second one), you can build it in the top of pavlov's house and Grudinin's mill. This gives you full sightlines of the hill overlooking the middle of the map. It's so far that infantry won't render in (500m) but vehicles will (1000m). Most people don't know this spot or to think to look in the top of a building so you can usually take out tanks before they realize what's happening.

Good idea, i have been out of the game for a while, so i dont have a ton of time on russian and biritsh maps and such. Knowing good AT cannon spots is deffinitly helpful for russian. I do like that you can also attack things from pretty far with the PTRS as well. Last time i was on Kursk or whatever i was a menace blasting tanks from llike 300m away with a PTRS. It may not be doing huge damage, but if i can track it or get them to panic it can help a bit at least with removing pressure from the infantry.

You can build nodes and bet XP from that as mention futher up.
You can also drive a truck to get XP. Extra xp if you have passengers.

Finally a worthy cause to support.

If you want to level any class . . . 2 options.

1) Legit - Play offensive mode. Play as defenders. Most games Engineers will build defenses on your second to last objective. Grab WHATEVER class you want to level, Get a supply truck, drive to your second point, drop box, return to the crane in HQ (it resupplies truck with new supplies). Rinse Repeat. Any supplies you drop that get turned into a defense piece (Bunker / walls / razor wire etc) gives you massive exp. Approx 4k-8k a game worth of class exp.

2) Cheat - Play bob the builder. EXP cheat server that grants Class X from killing 1 person. Lame. But there you go.
