Very low GPU usage
Hello guys.

I'm new to HLL. I tested it few times with free weekends, i HATED IT because i had no patience and i was playing with the wrong approach.

The game released on the gamepass so i wanted to give a last try to the game.

And i loved it. I enjoyed a lot the communication, the help from other players (French server).

BUT.... the lack of performance was (and still) pretty horrible to me. I have a 4070 + A 5700x. I can run every game possible with a good framerate. I'm playing on 1440p.

40-50 fps on average on gamepass.

I heard there is DX12 if you activate the command on steam. So i bought the game on steam. It's actually a bit better, gained around 40 fps.

The weird thing is, and that's why i do this post, the game runs between 175 and 200 fps in empty area with the GPU running at max power and the SECOND few players pop near me, my GPU drop to 30-40% usage then i go back to 90 fps....

I can't find the problem, -USEALLAVAILABLECORES looks useless.

What can i do to solve this problem since i hate playing a FPS with less than 120 fps...

Thanks !

Did you read my post ?

175 in EMPTY AREA, at spawn. Then my fps are cut in half and my GPU usage too when players pop near me..

Well, HLL, Squad and Post Scriptum are poorly optimized and such a problem as bottleneck is not new. The only problem is the game, there's nothing you can do about it. All the "hope" is for developers, who don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about optimization for years. *I speak as a person who has been in the game since its release*

Lack of RAM? 16GB of RAM these days isn't much. Could also be the ingame settings youre using, that you didnt post. So its difficult to narrow down ur issue. The in game settings make or break your experience. Theres forums on what settings are best.

USEALLAVAILABLECORES should be applied. "useless" is a term used by those that dont do their homework. You did your homework, right? That command and other commands are recommended for a good reason. *Subject to change

Your main problem is running in 1440. The game, for whatever reason, does not have a resoultion scale in-game. Instead it uses your desktop resoultion scale. Turn down your desktop resolution and you'll hit 150+ fps with that rig. I run mine on 1900x1080 with a 3070 and i get 90-120 fps. That's a laptop too so you should be able to crush it. the avaiable cores and dx12 will help but i saw the most gains from turning my desktop resolution off 4k essentially.
