Settings optimization tips?
Anyone have any good graphic setting templates for optimum performance and decent quality? Right now I've just got everything on medium and that keeps my game running well, but is there anything I could increase without it impacting performance too much or are there things I can lower further for better performance without sacrificing quality?

I've maxed out render distance but don't think it makes any difference to how things look in game and probably causes fps drops.

If you have win 10 or win 11 do this:
go to settings/system/display/graphics/
Browse desktop apps.

program files x86
steam
steamapps
common
xcom2
xcom2 war of the chosen
binaries
win64
xcom2.exe

Once on the list, highlight it and set it
for high performance.

Restart your computer.

Set your in game resolution to whatever
you monitor can handle.

Run the game with an FPS counter and
observe the performance.

This is not a magic wand. Your hardware
will vastly determine the outcome. But
it should help.

Right click game in steam library, click properties, and paste this into launch options:

-force -dx12 -USEALLAVAILABLECORES -refresh 144 -malloc=system -high

People say -dx12 causes more stuttering, but it fixes the FPS drops and gives a massive overall FPS boost.

(Also when I first started using -dx12 it stuttered more... idk if maps were loading shaders or what but after a while of having it on it's not as bad)

In video settings:

SSAO = OFF
view distance = lowest setting
Shadows = low/med

AntiAliasing = Community TAA, high/epic

Everything else high/epic doesn't seem to affect fps much.

I think just putting -high in steam launch options also does this?

Today every new game upon join communication is gone even to it shows i am connected and cannot be fixed in game tools, only thing that works is restart the game which ruins the experience since u gonna wain in queue for the server.

what does the -malloc and -high do? force, dx, all cores, refresh are obvious but the other two?

If I remember correctly -malloc=system forces the game to make use of all available RAM, it helped my performance a lot.
-high just sets the program to "high priority" on your pc

this is the way
For the best gaming experience in HLL an RTX 5090 is highly recommended because only NVIDIA offers you superior performance thanks to groundbreaking technologies like DLSS 4 and Reflex 2 to play HLL like a pro with 600 FPS and more. NVIDIA. The way it's meant to be played.

No idea. Actually I think most guides don't include that part. Probably don't need it. But whatever guide I followed, that's what it said, and it fixed my game.
