I figured it out, apparently its a known bug. You need to go to sound settings and disconnect and reconnect the VOIP: even if it says you are connected. Pretty lame.

I had the same issue in the past. Devs told me to update my graphics card software. This has fixed the issue for me.

Yep but only on some servers.

Just go to options -> audio -> disconnect -> reconnect

should fix it

Before the latest patch, voice communication almost always worked. After this patch, voice communication almost always does not work. Doesn't work right away or stops after 10 minutes. Sometimes voice communication with the squad does not work, but the general communication with those nearby works.
Reconnecting VoIP helped when disconnections were rare, but now this method does not work as the connection takes forever.

At this point they either have no plans to fix it or are too incompetent.

It is ruining the game for me. I can disconnect/reconnect and it still does nothing. They could easily solve this by paying for another voip software and replacing this POS. Even task hire the voip guys behind Lethal Company, that would be awesome. If nothing else hooking a Discord bot to a game api and have the bot create hidden channels and add the players would be better than leaving this like it is. Of course people would have to have Discord, but it is quickly becoming a common gaming staple and could be used.

I left for some 4 months ago awaiting to get a 4K monitor to see better with, Just jumped back in and now I can only get my mic to work 5% of the time. Then when it rolls into the next game the mic is dropped again. Makes the game un-playable. After 2 days of frustration I will have to drop the game for a title that works. Pitty HLL is a great game and i've purchased a lot of DLC for it.
Update:
seems to work but I havent played a full game and rolled into the next to see if its stable.
Refer to Mylrez fix it worked for me without disabling Nvidia High def. https://steamcommunity.com/app/686810/discussions/0/604145223442896561/

You clearly haven't played the game for very long.

Voice issues have been a major issue for HLL for a long time. TBF - the devs seem to have fixed most of them around 6 months ago.

Before that there were mid game drop outs, losing one of the channels (usually either command chat or local chat) and times when voice chat just dropped completely either on one server or on all servers.

The microphone test/audio channel UI was also very temperamental meaning that it was necessary to pause before clicking on the okay buttons and allowing the game to re-connect.

I don't think I have had a particularly unusual experience with voice chat since most of the time when I had issues, other people in game (and on this forum) were also experiencing problems.

----

All that said I don't recall any major issues with VC for the last 6 months, additionally update 17 was a nice quality of life improvement with respect to remembering which sound devices are selected - before that I had to re-select them every time I fired up the game.
