Apart from the official servers for HLL - of which there are a few - all other servers are privately run and rent the space to play. Most players avoid the official servers as they have zero admins.
More 'community' run servers should eventually come online with an increase in playerbase -if it can sustain the count.
Queueing is a necessary evil, always was and probably will remain so - unless you can obtain VIP status with a particular community by helping to seed an empty server OR joining a clan to get regular access.
If you said this back in July - September, you'd be right. Ignoring December where there was a free weekend and subsequent sale, the game has started to heal after the u14 disaster.
It stands to reason that the game will see an increase in player count as some will still stick around despite the problems because just like some of us, they will be able to see the *gem* in this pile of mud. This is how every free weekend/sale works.
The friends I convinced to play this game with gamepass just gave up because it's a grind just to get into a server.
The funny part is, it has been like this for a very long time and it continued to grow, only losing players after a *very* questionable patch from the new development team. This isn't a *new* problem and won't result in the game dying quickly, you are being melodramatic and impatient, 2 reactions that honestly show that the game isn't for you anyway.
There are ways around the queues that vary between servers. For the most part be there for seeding and you might get VIP from the admins or be on servers that give you VIP for good performance.
"Dying game" meanwhile people are complaining about having to queue to play it - how is that dying?
When people say dying game, what they really mean is, they don't like it and don't want others to like it lol why not just say that?
Never had that problem on steam.
I hope they are aware of the issue and fix it soon.
