"mah historical accuracy" Of *course* you're one of those.
Waste of time and resources tbh. Game's been out long enough, surely you've gotten used to tap firing by now? Why do you need a select fire? What reason other than "it's historically accurate" do you have?
"By your logic, why not give the Germans M1 Garands and give the Allies MG-42s? A lot of features in this game are because "it's historically accurate" and no other reason..."
It would be incredibly confusing from a *gameplay* perspective to have other factions using weapons from the faction you're currently playing as with DoD being a great example of this. I *AM* down for them to allow any faction on every map, though, because that would actually be interesting and fun especially since 2 factions are locked to a combined total of 5 maps.
"He is just asking why not have select fire, it's a fair point."
No, he's actually doing it in that snobby armchair developer way that makes it clear it's meant as a jab.
"You saying he's obsessed about it and we don't need it and it's a waste of time and he needs more reasons other than "historical accuracy" is insane lol."
If historical accuracy is so important, there's plenty that should be asked to be removed but instead we're hung up on adding a feature that a majority of people won't use. Much like the Bipod on the Bren. I hope they add a bipod to the BAR and FG too so it can be further proven that it's a useless feature.
So by this logic, OP can uninstall if they never implement select fire.
"Relax dude, if they implement select fire you can always uninstall."
Why would I do that? Mechanics like select fire would make the game easier for me. Can't wait for more bipods too.
I just think these mechanics are a waste of time because of the way the game is designed. You can already tap fire to the same level of success as having a select fire while still retaining full auto for closer engagements without having to worry about if your gun is on the right setting, which considering the game is already a clunky mess of misinputs, may not even register properly.
Maybe you can ask T17 to give you select fire next year and give your life a little meaning.
Happy new year Roo.
