Hell Let Loose

Hell Let Loose

Unplayable on rtx 4080 laptop
On my previous laptop with a gtx 1650 TI i can play with mixed medium and high settings at 1080p and 40-50 fps, most of the time stable. But on my new laptop with the rtx 4080 i cant even play at 720p on low settings with stable fps because it constantly drops to 10-20 fps or even lower. I can play the witcher 3 and cyberpunk 2077 at max settings with ray tracing and constant 60fps so honestly i dont understand whats happening. Hell let loose seems to not use properly the gpu, as it barely shows 20% usage or lower. Anyone knows how to fix it?

Thanks for sharing that with us.

Let's make sure that your computer is not attempting to run the game via your integrated graphics card, rather than your dedicated NVidia graphics card.

To run the game through your dedicated graphics card, you may need to refer to your graphics card manufacturer's documents. If you are still unsure of how to do this, please contact the manufacturer of your graphics card directly.

We are unable to directly offer you instructions on how to do this. However, if you are connected to the internet, you may find the following useful:
  1. Right-click your desktop, and select NVIDIA Control Panel.
  2. From the left, select Manage 3D Settings.
  3. Select Program Settings and navigate to select the program. (If the program is not in the list, select Add > navigate to the folder ‘…\Steam\steamapps\common’, select the game name folder and then select the .exe.
  4. Click High Performance to select the higher power graphics card to use for that specific application.
    Select Apply.
After the steps please retest the game to see if the problem still continues.

We can also see AWCCOverlay.exe crashing in your system, if you're overclocking at all can you please disable this and test if the issue continues?
We also recommend uninstalling the software as this has caused similar issues for players in the past.

Get back to us when you can!

It's because T17 don't know how to optimise. I upgraded my rig to run 2077 at max setting, and yet HLL fps fluctuates wildly from 30-60.

The problems you are suffering are likely wrapped up in a laptop cpu and lack of ram. Reveal them.

Guaranteed 2gb ram and i3 3217U with that RTX 4080.

The term "resource starvation" doesn't begin to describe a situation like that.

What sort of CPU and ram are you expecting a 4080 laptop to have which can allow it to run something like CP 2077 perfectly fine but hit a brick wall when running HLL?

To be honest with you, I would NEVER expect even a gaming laptop to run HLL well. My recommended package would be a liquid cooled 9th generation intel overclocked to 5.0 coupled with at least an overclocked 3080 TI and at LEAST 32GB of ddr4 ram. You my friend are DROWNING in resource starvation. And that is the fundamental reason why so many players are howling about optimization. They are three generation behind in hardware upgrades. Oh, wah... I can'y afford it. Yeah? Online Gaming is now a very expensive hobby. Catch up, or eat dust.

Wow! Liquid cooled!
Wow! Overclocked!

How much pride do you take in your computer? You never fail to bring it up.
Also bold to claim a 4080 to be 3 generations behind in hardware... while youre running a CPU half a decade old.

Aside from that, a laptop that can run games like CP 2077 just fine should be able to run HLL just fine. This isnt an extremely demanding game.

13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900HX
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Laptop GPU
32GB Memory
2TB SSD
As i said, i can play cyberpunk 2077 at 1440p 60fps max settings and rtx overdrive with dlss on performance mode, and the witcher 3 at 4k 60 fps with ray tracing and dlss on balanced mode. As for the online gaming, i can play battlefield v at 1440p 60fps max settings with ray tracing without dlss. Besides, it doesnt make any sense that my previous laptop has better performance on hell let loose.

The problem isn't GPU in your case. Last thing from it. It's lack of ram and a laptop cpu. This game, by all reports, is far more cpu intensive than anything else, and even gaming laptop cpus wont cut the mustard.

His problem was already solved. It had nothing to do with the hardware rather the game running on his iGPU.

Nice to see that T17 has some people willing to help with these technical issues.

His IGPU. Lord, that would explain much.
