high DPI, low Sensitivity, MOUSE too fast on map, menu and command selection

Hi there,

i just set up my mouse dpi to about 8k. Ingame I changed the mouse sensitivity to about 5%.
The aiming has become much better now.
But the courser moves too fast whenever i open the map, as well as in the class-selection-menu or when pressing mousewheel to select a command.

Do u know how I can fix that?

do you have a OS acceleration active? check that and maybe (depending on your mouse) also the mousedriver/sofware.

i have a DPI button on my mouse and change ingame to a slower movement, and in the menue to middle. have to look ingame later for my actual settings for HLL.

os acceleration is off.
i use a razer deathadder and its synapse software to switch between the dpi settings. I set them to 8000 dpi and at the same time i reduced the ingame sensitivity. but I do not find any ingame setting to reduce mouse sensitivity in the main menu or when i open the map or when i press the middle mouse button to select commands.
It is very annoying to have to always press the dpi button after dying, switching classes, using the map, using the middle mouse button to send commands.

you will have to figure that out yourself ^^ maybe try the other way round, decrease dpi even more and raise ingame ^^
hard and software combinations will lead to different results, and then there is the human factor.
you may be anoyed switching around, while others have no problem with 20 buttons on the mouse alone ^^

well if I only could setup the mouse sensitivity for courser-movement there wouldn't be any problem.

I found a workaround. If I reduce the windows mouse acceleration, the courser on the map moves slowly while maintaining the ego turning acceleration. YOu already pointed me on that, but i did missunderstand your point

Just use 400-800 DPI and convert your sensitivity using a eDPI calculator disable all acceleration as its bad for muscle memory , ECT , Enhanced pointer precision should be disabled why would you use 8000 DPI , i respect everyone is different and some might like high sens or low sens , most games have this issue playing on high dpi with super fast menu mouse speeds but changing your windows pointer speed is not the way .

400-1600 dpi above that its crazy .

There are 3 settings that alter your sensitivity:

• windows mouse setting (don't touch that one, behaviour can get weird)

• DPI of your mouse, usually set in the driver software of your mouse manufacturer. Marketing likes to sell you high DPI numbers but anything between 600 to 1000 should be fine for HLL.

• Ingame setting. The slider for general sensitivity and ADS sensitivity. I like to keep them both at the same value to not mess with muscle memory.

For reference those are my settings:

•Windows 6/11 (default)

•600 DPI

•15% ingame for both values.
