Why? Germans have two MGs with bipods. Not only that, but they also have automatic rifles.
What kind of balance is this? Or is the fact that Bren is simply a BAR with a re-skin because they "had no time" to create a new model for the Bren? And also they couldn't figure out how to add bipod to BAR model?
Really disappointing.
Has this ever been a focus for this game?
It always has been but we are being hung up on words exact definitions.
The game has always strived for feeling authentic and completely within everyone pop culture understanding of a gritty WWII shooter.
It doesnt matter at all a STG44 is usable in the wrong theatre. It does matter obscure WWII weapons nobody has ever heard of are the default kit for one of the major belligerents for the war. Its just wrong and everyone can feel it.
Also, the 10-round magazine gets overhyped as well. Soldiers in a firefight would usually just load five because loading two clips was rather time-consuming with the crappy Enfield stripper clips and the rimmed cartridges.
I also don't buy into the Enfeild being "so fast they thought it was mgs" claim either. If you get 50 guys online or in a trench volley firing at the same target it is going to have a rather impressive suppression effect. The same could be achieved with a 1903, Mauser, mosin etc. For a better understanding of the Enfield in general I recommend you give this guy's channel a look. He can explain it better than I can. I like the Enfield, I really like the No. 4 but much like the M1, it gets a lot more credit than it deserves.

I believe we could have the SMLE with it's more open sight and 10 round magazine, and if they are really worried about "balance" they could just give less spare ammo so people are less inclined to waste what they got.
It also doesn't help that the Germans have the Gewerh 43 and the StG44...

I agree that Update 14 was a big fail but not because a lack of historical accuracy.
The sights of all british guns are broken and need a fix.
The running speed is way to high.
Having the p14 a the british main rifle isn´t an issue that needs to be fixed. I wouldnt mind if they do but that´s not why this update is broken...
Bren is massive fail in every way and it needs to be fixed. How can character even hit something while shooting rifle caliber gun from the hip is beyong me, it feels like shooting from .30 cal while standing like in Battlefield I, which is an arcade. Hell Let Loose went full arcade and its terrible. I played it to have something between Battlefields and Post Scriptum, but now it feels like Battlefield, which is just sad.
I will just leave the match every time i get Brits, not so hard to change servers. I wont loose time getting stomped by Devs favourited Germans, while Brits cant get Enfield as standard rifle to have chance againts STG and Gewehr spam.
