British Weapons. Why?
So im pretty happy that us Brits have been added to the game. Been rather excited to use the SMLE. But to my surprise, nearly every class is using the Pattern 1914 Enfield. Why!?
it wasn't the main rifle of the British Army at this point. It was either the MK3 or MK4 SMLE. Both with 10 round clips.
The Pattern 1914 (P14) was used almost exclusively by snipers and reserve troops. It was meant to be more accurate and have a better sight picture than the SMLE. So why is almost every class equipped with it before an SMLE? The lack of a semi-auto rifle in the British arsenal means a 10 shot bolt action is a good balancer. Half the classes like the support or the engineer can't even have the SMLE. The P14 should be in alternative loadouts for people who might want more accuracy rather than mag size.

The cycle rate on the SMLE also seems to match the other bolt actions in the game, when in fact it was the fastest cycling bolt action in the world at the time. British troops are famous for being able to perform a "Manic Minute" which was reported to simulate machinegun fire in the First world war.
It needs speeding up. This will also help balance it with the lack of a semi-auto.

Brengun needs to be able to use it's bi-pod, because the retail is mental. The Lanchester is far to prominent, sten guns were far cheaper and Lanchesters were infact barely used. Give the support a stengun option.

Also fix the sway on the iron sights, makes firing any of the British rifles all but impossible if moving even slightly.

Historical accuracy needs to be a focus again for this game, hopefully soon!

I was looking foward for the Bren gun. And then found out there is no bipod.

Why? Germans have two MGs with bipods. Not only that, but they also have automatic rifles.

What kind of balance is this? Or is the fact that Bren is simply a BAR with a re-skin because they "had no time" to create a new model for the Bren? And also they couldn't figure out how to add bipod to BAR model?

Really disappointing.

New map and content needed a few months on a PTE. No bipod when it is modeled on the weapon in game is one of the dumbest immersion breaking things ever. Why even play MG class on British side? New maps are pretty bad and feel bad especially when you're going to get slumped by a guy spraying rounds from a click away with an MG42. Also why does the bolt action have half the rounds it did in RL? The "balance" choices in this game are a bit ridiculous. I would love to see statistics for W/L ration on the new maps, I feel like Germany has been dominating since the new content dropped.

British weapons aren't even zeroed to my cross hairs half the time, I see my trace rounds way above the the sight alignment

It always has been but we are being hung up on words exact definitions.
The game has always strived for feeling authentic and completely within everyone pop culture understanding of a gritty WWII shooter.
It doesnt matter at all a STG44 is usable in the wrong theatre. It does matter obscure WWII weapons nobody has ever heard of are the default kit for one of the major belligerents for the war. Its just wrong and everyone can feel it.

because devs are idiots, simple british is the worst faction in the game and nothing new bring to game....so sad.

Only when trying to get it funded through kickstarter.

The guns are laughable. The germans absolutely wreck them

To be fair, the mad minute is something that gets over hyped as hell. It was just the 300-yard rapid-fire course of British Marksman training. It was 20 rounds at 300 yards not as many as you could shoot in a minute. It was similar to the Marines' rifle qualification at the same time. The one you are thinking of was just the shooting instructors screwing around because they were excellent shots and were challenging each other.
Also, the 10-round magazine gets overhyped as well. Soldiers in a firefight would usually just load five because loading two clips was rather time-consuming with the crappy Enfield stripper clips and the rimmed cartridges.
I also don't buy into the Enfeild being "so fast they thought it was mgs" claim either. If you get 50 guys online or in a trench volley firing at the same target it is going to have a rather impressive suppression effect. The same could be achieved with a 1903, Mauser, mosin etc. For a better understanding of the Enfield in general I recommend you give this guy's channel a look. He can explain it better than I can. I like the Enfield, I really like the No. 4 but much like the M1, it gets a lot more credit than it deserves.

I have made a post about this as well, and added a list of what I would change regarding El Alamein!

I believe we could have the SMLE with it's more open sight and 10 round magazine, and if they are really worried about "balance" they could just give less spare ammo so people are less inclined to waste what they got.

It also doesn't help that the Germans have the Gewerh 43 and the StG44...

This whining about P14 not being the main batle rifle is hilarious.
I agree that Update 14 was a big fail but not because a lack of historical accuracy.
The sights of all british guns are broken and need a fix.
The running speed is way to high.
Having the p14 a the british main rifle isn´t an issue that needs to be fixed. I wouldnt mind if they do but that´s not why this update is broken...
Kubulin24 1 jun, 2023 @ 5:24
Not adding SMLE III is just laziness, nothing more, basically you can take Mk. IV model, do some changes and you have Mk. III, but devs went the even more lazy way and copy P14 to most classes.

Bren is massive fail in every way and it needs to be fixed. How can character even hit something while shooting rifle caliber gun from the hip is beyong me, it feels like shooting from .30 cal while standing like in Battlefield I, which is an arcade. Hell Let Loose went full arcade and its terrible. I played it to have something between Battlefields and Post Scriptum, but now it feels like Battlefield, which is just sad.

I will just leave the match every time i get Brits, not so hard to change servers. I wont loose time getting stomped by Devs favourited Germans, while Brits cant get Enfield as standard rifle to have chance againts STG and Gewehr spam.

Remove the Lanchester SMG from the game and replace it with the Sten and add 1928 Thompson with a drum mag when players reach class level 6-9, and who thought it would be a good idea to have it impossible to mount the Bren Gun?
