combine long spawn times with no option to play sound in background and this is what you get. People are alt tabbed 33% of the time. but also, alost of the people in this game are just lazy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that dont put effort into anything they do, IRL or online.
yeah ur right, this is also a big issue.
didnt happen to me that often so far tho
don't get me wrong.
its not about smalltalk, its about reporting enemys and setting some attack ideas for ur squad as SL, so u can actually work as a Squad
This is a personal dislike but servers that require squad leaders to have a mic, there are alot of good players who understand how the game works but cant squad lead as no mic, so instead of skill level you get mic quality level based leading.
We've now got players well into the double digits (talking 50-60+, seen it as high as level 108) not knowing how capturing sectors works in Warfare mode.
Imagine playing any game, and someone joins your team and doesn't know you score points? Pick a sport, or any game, and realize how insane that is, lol
Well Hell Let Loose does this - and from my point of view; intentionally so that the community teaches each other, the issue is without any form of tutorial we're reliant on new players have first watched a 29 min Mono video to learn the ins and outs of the game. Few players one wants to do that (most people prefer to learn as they go, but give them the basics) nor should it be expected.
Game needs a brief (under a minute) tutorial that just explains things that shows new players what they need to know to enjoy the experience.
The only roles in the game where mics SHOULD be mandatory are the leadership roles. There's little to no reason for single-digit leveled players to be running these roles and not communicating. For Christ's sake, there's level 200s n' ♥♥♥♥ that don't talk.
Hell Let Loose is a strategy game first, shooter second. I have won against teams that were better mechanically, I've beaten hackers and I've had tons of excellent squads in my 500+ hours of playing... But every one of these instances was because we were communicating.
THE MOST FUN YOU WILL HAVE IS WHEN YOUR SQUAD COMMUNICATES. I don't know how this is a shock to some people - or why some people continue to deny this. Everyone's most memorable experiences in the came are, 90% of the time, when they had squads that worked and communicated together.
I really don't think I've seen it as bad as I have in the last couple months. It's caused me to look into competitive communities and not even because I want to be sweaty, but because I just have more fun when my team works together; win or lose. This isn't Call of Duty or Battlefield, if you want those experiences go play those games. This is a whole different animal and, if you like it, learn it.
I agree that the crossroads are coming soon, where veterans are going to have to force themselves into leadership roles and then forcibly teach these new players. I do it from time to time when I'm frustrated, but the worst thing of it? A lot of these players don't ask for help, they don't want help, they get offended when you tell them what to do, they decide to do their own thing regardless of what you say, they don't say anything at all, they don't speak English, the list goes on...
I have pretty bad social anxiety, myself. But I realized that I wasn't trying to have a "conversation" per se, but just communicating about the game. There's not one veteran in this game that should be offended when you ask questions, I'm always relieved when someone does (there's still hope!).
If lack of communication becomes an issue in a game, I try moving around squads, making my own + kicking people as a last resort. If a specific person is unresponsive, I try calling their name. Try a simple greeting or asking if people have mics in a new squad.
