Game is stuttering when aiming down sights.
Already running -DX12. PC specs below.

5700x -15 CO / 4700 - 4850 MHz all cores in games
16 GB of RAM - 3733 CL16, tight timings
6750XT - 2825 MHz core
Slim Win10 install ( game is on HDD, don't have issues with other games though ).

It's probably the classic case of Unreal 4 stutters. But I would still like to fix this if it's possible.

if you have an ssd install the game on that, might sort the issue out.

try going back to DX11, it fixed it for me. I was suffering terrible stutters in DX12

also SSD is a good option

I do have SSD but I have a lot of other stuff on it. I afraid I can't move this game on SSD.

I get quite a bit less fps on DX11, I just tried max settings without any tweaks with DX11 to be fair. But it was not a pleasant experience. I will try DX11 with current settings and see if stutters still occur.

It's really annoying because it stutters only when I aim down sights.

Just tested DX11 now with same settings, indeed this stutters much less. I do get lower fps though, around 120 - 140. I could probably still lock 120 for fairly good experience though.

I thought this game would have a little bit better performance.

With max settings you probably have a texture streaming issues (since loading from HDD). You can run the command line -NOTEXTURESTREAMING which will load all textures into video memory at start. 12GB video card should be good enough, Give it a try.

It loads map for a long time slowly increasing VRAM usage up to 11500 MB and then freezes.

DX11 sadly gives me fps drops to 70. Back to DX12, fullscreen reduces stutters a little. But sadly doesn't fix it.

maybe drop some settings?

I use 1080 ti @ 1440p I get 80-120 fps, lowered a few options like shadows.
I'd prefer lower fps than stuttering screwing my aim up.

Game still looks lovely.

the micro stutters were just too much to deal with on DX12, esp in close combat engagement.

Dropping settings won't help too much, seemingly CPU bottlenecked on DX11. With DX12 I don't get drops from locked 120 fps, other than mentioned stuttering.

DX11 drops fps with amount of players, like 20 players servers are perfectly fine. But more players there are the lower fps I get.

Seems to be common trend with UE4 nowadays, I do like the game. But these stutters or low performance is ruining it for me and probably for so many other players.

you have an option and install it on a ssd, but you have already said you cant put it on the ssd so no point mentioning it.

Try the above with max settings except textures at high instead of ultra on Dx12. This still may be to high of a setting, do not know what resolution you play at.

1080p. Seems like memory leak to be honest, VRAM slowly fills up until it either crashes or freezes.

Normally game uses like 5 to 6 GB of VRAM. A lot of things maxed out, not everything though.

Moving to SSD didn't completely solve stutters. But seemingly reduced stuttering a lot, I just tested this on empty server so far. But it's quite smooth.

Get more RAM and get a m.2 SSD 2 tb for around 150 dollars
