Voice chat incredibly quiet

My friend is having some issues with voice chat, he can speak just fine but voice are so quaint he can't make out a word anyone is saying. Voice chat and all related audio settings are maxed, and the regular game he can hear perfectly. Just not voice chat.. Does anyone know of a fix for this?

turn down sfx and increase overall volume, then set the seperate voice channels to your/his liking.

may also check if your hardware is on 100% and you/he hasnt turned down the volume at the headset cable XD ;) just kidding i assume thats all good, but already had people turned off the mic at the cable XD

i have used a cheap no name hs for a while, but got back to my creative hs810 sb - that made a huge difference too.

This.. also HLL is best played with a headset. most times i hear them before seeing them lol
