This game is just *blink* and you're dead. You don't know who or what killed you. Game gives you no information to go off of to learn from. Some pixel on the horizon kills you and you get the exciting task of waiting to respawn so you can walk back to the battle and get deleted from existence again.
I kinda feel bad for players who started with this gameplay loop and found it fun, "Oh boy some unknown, unseen enemy instantly killed me and I don't even know how, so much fun!"
I would also like to add that it definitely isn't for everyone, and that's okay.
your complaning about dying alot, also tells a story about your game behaviour
this isnt battlefield, where you will survive running tough open fields. TTK is VERY fast
This is a very social experience. Might take a minute but you will have a great time with a bit of jumping around.
I am having a blast in this game, even if we lose i am having allot of fun with my squad.
Try using commuciation and take things slow.
Try joining a squad who use a microphone with a squad leader who got experience.
Try using cover and cover your angles.
On a more serious note I highly doubt anybody's first couple hours in HLL is filled with long lives and many kills and full understanding of the game. People who enjoy a challenge and to figure things out on their own (or who looked up youtube videos I guess if that's their thing) will enjoy HLL, people who don't.. won't.
I had two friends try for the first time last night, I was worried they would hate the game because one was talking about how he can't see very well. Figured he'd rage quit after the first 10 minutes, we also played for 6 solid hours and he picked it up. Pretty sure his buddy is getting it too.
Yeah it feels like you're really in a squad in WW2. I bought this last free weekend, but the free weekends are great being there's so many more players. It's one of my favorite games.
It's not for everyone obviously. If you're into COD or BF or stuff like that, you're not getting that here at all. But for me who don't like those games, that's a good thing lol.
That happened to me for the first maybe 45 minutes. The next 2 hours were very interesting.
Sounds like you just didn't understand how to play the game.
In my second game I got 12 kills and died three times, in the third 14 kills and 11 deaths.
The game definitely rewards people who are cautious and who got good ideas how to flank the enemy and I found that quite rewarding.
And I'm in my 30s, so most definitely not the fastest reaction time.
This game is much more about considering your options and looking at the battle, deciding where to go, than the modern Battlefield games, which are all pretty much garbage.
The last online shooter I enjoyed was/is PUBG, where your life/attempt counts even more than in this game. Obviously HLL is quite different from PUBG, but I enjoy that you can outskill somebody by using your brain and it's not all about twitch reaction capabilities.
I'm thinking about buying it.
