Why There is No Tutorial in HLL.(IMHO)

I prefer to think of the lack of a Tutorial is actually Beneficial to HLL. The lack of a tutorial makes you more dependent on communication with your Squad. It Forces you to rely on your team mates as you try to figure out what the HLL is going on. The lack of a tutorial neutralizes all those Cool Tricks you've learned from other FPS/WW2 Shooters(game systems X,Y,Z) in general. This game has depth in every thing from the way you move and hide to the reasons you can/cant get help from your commander, and everything in between. That makes those 10 or 20 first levels that much more Sweeter, and what it took to over come them. Your going to remember them. The struggles you had. Being Overwhelmed, the Confusion, the Chaos, the Depression, the PTSD. Your first Incoming Bombing Run , that Dam Artillery, and Murderous MG fire. Those that helped you along the way. The first new Loadout you earned, and brother did you earn it.

So I am NOT in favor of a Tutorial. Like I have said before, "Your the 'Freaking New Guy (FNG)', you have literally been conscripted yesterday and sent to the front lines today. You know what you know. Enjoy it while it lasts, you will only get this feeling at the beginning of you HLL Career.

So if you choose not to take the time watch a few videos on HLL, the shock will be all the more dramatic. HLL is Brutal and Unforgiving, Be advised.

I disagree, but not enough to fight about it. ultimately I think the game is lacking alot of things more important than a tutorial. A proper level system would sufice in the place of a tutorial. Lock players to entry level roles and let them ease into the more advanced stuff...

You know like what level systems are meant for. Instead of using it as a grind wall to generate artificial engagement like their bogus community spotlight nonsense.

Seriously my brother in Christ, you need to recognize that this is first and foremost a video game and tutorials are an essential component to complex game systems that HLL has.

I've read it and I've skimmed through your perfect, never-challenged, always right massive list of recommendations, and they're all mainly bad tbh. The scope and scale of this game will not match your ideals, and as game developers they will not incorporate your ideas as they break the gameplay loop severely and destabilize the core function of the game.

Soldiers had basic training before deploying that taught them basics. Tutorials in games like Squad, PS and similar are basically that.

they are also generally good benchmark on game performance without impacting fellow players by learning you only get 15 FPS in match

Also this is video game, people generally want to know how to play so they can just have fun

because MAYBE polish education system is flawed, MAYBE it needs updating. But that was clearly described as myth throughout years of education.

And even then, concripts would be told basics of how to use weapeon effectively

Actually there are tutorial in places like Youtube. They are player contributions. Some of them are minimal but helpful. Others are quite good.

Im sorry that i chose to belive known fact taught in educational facilities instead of beliefs of someone on internet. Its almost like textbooks are based on historical fact though. But if you have legitimate source for your claim it would be diffrent case. But you would probably provide one in such case.

I wonder if you also belive myth peddled by movie "Enemies at Gates" about only each second soldier getting rifle....

As for partisants
In Poland? Most partisans were trained by surviving Polish army officers and soldiers that went underground after capitulation. France initially were self trained with some assistance from their army survivors, then they got help from other allied countries.

I don't think people need a typical tutorial to cover stuff like WASD movement, and right-click to zoom; nor is that what the issue is.

The primary issue is that people spend dozens of hours playing this game, and yet don't understand the rules of the game.

Its akin to playing a sport and only chasing the ball, but not really understanding how we are trying to score; this is clearly evident playing with people that don't grasp how the game scores their efforts.


- People in non-capturable or non-scoring grids
- People not understanding the resource system
- People not grasping the garrison rules


These are things that can be covered in a video under a minute, before they get into battle; and would help get players up to speed.

you just have to read it ^^ its there - use it!

for all the other stuff... play the game first and get used to it, befor you try anything else then the basics.

dont expect to be a pro from the first hour on!
