A working cheat for Hell let Loose is currently 30$ though. So it's not like there are no cheaters in this.
there's a lot of cheating players in hell let lose what is the matter with you guys!
interesting,
ok i forgot to add,
this was on our company server, so we have admin, I snapped this on relive,
we had eyes on him, he did some weird stuff, like would be in positions you wonder how he got there, like no garry/op near by and hes just like afk standing there.
re- latency. interesting take. so this is what it can look like from a lagging observer or a lagging combatant? , could explain why the aim snap. however this server is 29 ping to me (60-80 round trip) , yeah forgot to mention we had the ability to police.
just wanted every ones takes on it. currently he remains in the game i think.
but then again, i had this same situation with another player last night too.
so perhaps this is as you say. i know it happens when you pop in off a op/garry.
used to be just map icons etc sped up. now in U12 the game visually speeds up when u come in sometimes, and i swear ive had the game on like 1.5x turbo for a few seconds and slowly comes down. even op/garry noises are spoken faster for a few seconds. ..
i'll relay this to our command/hq so we can avoid policing innocents for hardware issues =)
Cheaters are extremely rare and in 95% of cases the people making the accusations have very little proof other than "look at these cheats that exist because i found them on a google search". Any cheat you find through google is already going to be detected through EAC (which is NOT a good anticheat btw which makes it even more hilarious) and in most cases, not all of them, admins on community run servers have enough of an understanding of the game to judge if someone is being suspicious.
In a majority of cases as well it's a low level player with very little time put into the game complaining about cheats and hacks. My first rule when someone calls someone a hacker is to hit tab, see how much time has passed in the game, and then look at all the combat effectiveness' of the enemy, see if there's anything suspiciously high, and then the level of the person making the accusation. It's laughably surprising how often it turns out someone is just upset about dying. Like you.
The irony in your response is overwhelming.
Clearly you're either just a troll or someone with severe mental issues that need to be resolved in therapy, not on the steam forums. Hope you get the help you need.
Cheating in online games is a lot more common than people realise -
Forbes [www.forbes.com] reports that 37% of gamers cheat
Or how about
Research paper [dl.acm.org] on steam shows that 700,000 accounts are flagged for cheating and that use of cheats spreads like a contagion
Even the most basic of google searches results in peer reviewed papers on the frequency of cheating and the impact it has on the software industry. If you consider how many people are impacted by those cheating then it becomes easier to understand why people react in the way they do.
I feel the same way and I believe that people are getting smarter with their use of software assistance. I don't envy admins trying to identify those playing well vs those cheating. Bad boy beaman has an interesting youtube channel where he conducts analysis of cheating videos/evidence - so much of it involves a synthesis of observations and understand of game/map mechanics, and very rarely is the answer clear cut.
Even though I think cheating is a lot more common in HLL than players are willing to accept I'm not an advocate of kill feeds - the game is so much about positional advantage that giving that information away after a single kill I believe would be a significant loss to the game. I would like there to be more effective reporting methods (which isn't dependent on server admins) so that suspect players can be removed with greater ease.
