Sniper - Bullet Drop/Scope adjustment
I like the efforts the developers have put into building a realistic experience for those who like the feeling of strategy and playing conservatively as most soldiers would operate.

One thing that bugs me is that at 400m I can still easily headshot a player without adjusting for range or aiming above or below target if the targets range is not dead on the site. Battlefield V gets a little closer to this feeling. Any untrained person can put a site over a target and click a button, but if we're going for realism I think this needs to be addressed for the sniper class.

I apologise if this has already been posted as a discussion point, I did a quick search for similar posts and nothing popped up.

Kind regards

AT 200+ I do aim high to adjust for bullet drop (and lead target) so not sure how you are hitting at 400 meters while not compensating. Only thing i can think of is if you have significant elevation over the target.

Same here, putting a headshot at 300+ with the sniper is hard when compensating and not having a reference of where your bullet fell most of the times.

Ironically I have more luck with headshots in regular weapons beyond 200+ meters when talking about compensating the weapon.

Same here! I'm a Rank 9 Sniper myself (almost 10) and I always had to compesate for shots around 200m and beyond. I really don't know where he's getting this uncompensated 400m shots from. But I know that, by default, the game forces you to compensate for such distances.

Thanks for responses, I did have elevation from a second floor window so it isn't really an adequate test as you've pointed out, that would be an obvious factor that I didn't think of. Thanks for that suggestion. I've not played a public game yet as I wanted to get used to the controls and understand some of the mechanics before getting battered, so tests have been done on a spun up training server. Even at elevation I would expect bullet drop to be higher at that range - perhaps the training server default does not reflect public settings. Not being able to adjust the site seems limiting.

My biggest grip is the scopes do not have MOA lines in them so hard to remember how much to offset at X distance.

Smells like BS, at 400m you are aim wayyy over the targets head to land a hit.

Maybe you played with the american sniper rifle, which has quite a ridiculous x2 scope.
