Game is dying already.
Communities are abandoning this title, and for good reason.

Let's start with the malicious seeding tactics of a specific community group that prevents most NA servers from ever populating to their potential. When this type of activity happens and you monopolize an entire region, you welcome admin abuse and favoritism. Not assisting, or playing well with other community servers allows you control who can play and who can't by forcing everyone to follow your rules, with the exception of your own favorite players. We all know who these DIKKS are. They ban people without reason, especially if you hurt a streamers feelings, or disagree with them. A lack of a ban appeal system prevents players from returning to these monopolized regions, save for a few instances where there are active Official servers, which are total anarchy due to mods not being present.

Secondly, the development of the game is a bit slow for the majority of players to find interest in continuing to pursue the title, this doesn't mean development isn't active, it's simply slower than most of the community would like to see, and the content that's present is not enough to keep the majority of players from returning long term.

Thirdly, the emphasis on trying to capitalize on the 'twitch market' instead of the milsim market is killing this game for a lot of us. We've seen time and time again the developers consistently putting certain toxic streamers on a pedestal, and this is causing a fissure within the milsim communities who feel that they're being completely ignored by the developers and their marketing team.

These are only a few points, but I write this out of experience as a server owner who has seen the community go from an active milsim group, to a total anarchic, toxic waste dump of streamer follower filth who don't respect the integrity of the game, and the devs are ok with promoting the people who lead them to the game to capitalize on a few dollars.

This title had immense potential, but between the cucky/plucky streamers who are allowed favoritism on the only few active servers, and the total neglect of the milsim community as a whole, this game will inadvertently end up like most Early Access games of the same caliber, on the bottom of a long list of titles with less than a few active servers, that will inevitably die and fade from memory.

Agreed, I already refunded the game and won't get it again until it gets fixed.
The main problem isn't kids, it's adult streamers who control a region by seeding on one specific server, or group of, instead of playing on other community servers so that they can monopolize the region's activity. (ie: They will seed one server with 15-20 players who aren't actually playing, regular players will go to the server list and search for populated servers and then will go to the one that is most populated typically. Once this server is well above 'seeding' capacity, they'll jump to a second server and outseed every other community server with the intent on being the only active group playing. Once they're done seeding they log off. It's a malicious tactic.)

The other issue is with this monopolization of the region, they're allowed to abuse their own rules, while forcing others to obey or be forever banned.

Ive Seen this in other games, sub rosa fit example. A shame...

Your own lack of comprehensive ascertation of the opinion post here, through my own experience, sounds more like someone extremely offended by information you do not want others to obtain.

Your experience is clearly different from mine. I ran a server for HLL. I still run an active community that plays many games across multiple platforms. Please do not project your negativity in this thread.

Team17 allowed a toxic streamer to promote the game on the steam store page. This, coupled with multiple notifications on their official discord to promote said person without consideration of the milsim groups that have been purposefully neglected since the games launch.

Allowing this individual to "influence" the game over many others who have been monitoring the activity of the game, and who pay for servers to remain active, is an insult to a large majority of server admins and players. (This was taken from another server owner and is not my opinion, even if I agree with it.)

I'm also only stressing about my own region, there is no reason to start a flame war over this.

Some of the "example" statements I posted are from other milsim community leaders, and their sentiment on the current state of the game. To protect them and their communities, I'm here doing the dirty work, taking the flak.

i do agree this is why i dont play the game, for the most part.

Do you work in game development? Have you got much experience in EA games? No two games have the same development process or speed, because this depends entirely on what kind of game they're making and what they're working on at the time. As far as development speed goes, I've never once seen a development team release content as consistently as these guys have. Every 8 weeks like clock work and that's not something you see very often. Most games you often have to wait up to 6 months at a time for new things.

People who complain about development being too slow are clueless in regards to game development itself.

Hotdogs, Horseshoes, and Handgrenades is a VR game with a very small development team, yet gets content updates every friday, for the most part, save for breaks after huge updates. and ive seen other games that update every few weeks too, not just months.

so id say its certainly a pretty common thing, esp for indie devs with passion for their work.

with HLL im not sure the size of the dev team, but even if content updates dont come out, communication with the community is a must. for example: project zomboid. updates on whats being worked on every monday (coined 'mondoids' or 'thursdoids')

HLL is putting out updates, but maybe not as frequently as people might want.

as i said above, main reason im not playing the game is just due to wanting to see more polish.

What the ♥♥♥♥ have you been smoking OP hahaha?

This game is not even close to dead.

This game isn't dying, but it does have very slow growth just due to the current state of development, bugs/fixes, and the pacing.. paired with the fact this type of game isn't your typical shooter since it's a tactical shooter, so your playerbase is typically significantly smaller in comparison because the target audience isn't broad.

Twitch/Youtube streamers aren't really important for this kind of game (particularly for the type of game that this is; namely NON-LEAGUE based), but that's my opinion. I don't pay any attention to streamers anyways, so I find that largely irrelevent.

I think this game will have slow growth just like Red Orchestra, but the playerbase seems to be fairly consistent. Currently, not worried about the player counts as long as the developers don't do something to cause a steep nosedive because of personal biases/decisions they've made.

Streamers' popularity and support of the game seems to be drawing people in. There was a huge 50v50 event between a few large groups that own servers today and it looked fun as hell. I couldn't attend, but things like that show the communities are all working together and keeping the competition healthy and alive. I don't understand these baseless claims, and it seems to be another lame attempt at discrediting a thriving community.

The game's fine, and not quoting server owners to protect their communities takes away from the credibility of those statements since they can't be validated. Don't quote me on that though, I'm just going off what others are saying right now.

Just sayin'. Expecting to have multiple quotes of this with ad hominem responses. Maybe since I said that they won't now so that I'll be the wrong one. Oh no, but I've caught onto their mind game - what will they do now? The world waits with great anticipation.

Server diversity comes from people wanting to run servers. Running a 100 man server is difficult and takes a lot of time to keep it populated as well as managed daily! In my opinion, I'd rather have a few great servers than a bunch of half full/loosely managed servers. It's not for everyone and that is 100% A-OK.

All the top ones in EU and US are great fun to play on. 7CAV, 505th, PBS, DIXX, etc. They run a tight ship and while it's just a few I named their success wasn't without sacrifice, and they each have a ton of dedicated members keeping those communities thriving and their servers clean.
