Open mic?

I'd love for my squad or proximity chat to be open mic. Any way to do this? Or with the radio? I'm new to the game and find calling out bearings while in combat to be a bit tough.

sometimes my proximity chat gets stuck on transmitting when i hold it down and press rshift
although i have a custom layout, prox chat is num5 and rshift is sprint
not sure if it is intended or a "bug"

you can always ping the enemy instead of calling out bearings, i think default its middle mouse button.

Thanks guys. Looks like I'm SOL for what I'm looking for. I like open mic cuz you can't baby rage haha. Keeps you in check, it does

Open mic would be horrible. Look at War of Rights for example.

ugh, i had a SL when i was running command that had an open mic and the entire match was us going "stop eating chips or we're gonna mute you"

no thanks, i like to hear the game, not someone's background noise or inane babble. Push the button when you need to talk.

V for proximity
C for squad
X for command, if you're SL or commander.

Use middle mouse button to ping for your team, so they know exactly where you're talking about and problem solved.

How the hell do I turn OFF open/hot mic.. have been playing the game with PTT since I started playing.. today, I must have accidentally toggled open/hot mic on with an unintentional key stroke I guess but for the life of me, can’t figure out which key I pressed to turn hot mic back off! Help! 🤣

I have exactly the same problem. And I find no way to deactivate this..

On PC and im playing with a mouse and keyboard - i switched controller layout to layout c in settings and that fixed the hot mic issue for me. I dunno how but controller layout still applies settings. Layout A is voice detection

Open mic seems to happen when you tap (and release) the key very quickly.

To clear it press the key again and say something then release the key.
