I don't really have an issue with Punishment Time for a TK. Although there is a pretty good argument that HLL Street Justice was more effective against TK'ing than Punishment Time. Nothing like having 50 guys pissed off at you for 3 or 4 days roaming around on all the servers. lol
Punishment Time for a Redeploy is/was is a player disconnect when a Officer orders a squad mate redeploy to another role (i.e. Bishop i need you to redeploy to a Support [or Insert Role needed]) or every redeploy to the Airhead.
Never seen a soldier killing himself to redeploy behind the Front.
The Gamer this Days....
I had squad mates ask me to kill them several time cuz they need a faster redeploy. Also Suicide Rushes into the enemy.
I'm not complaining about realism. I'm complaining about the game mechanics.
Imagine someone making a bad mistake on positioning. What is the remedy? Kill themselves... which is the exact thing the enemy wants to do.
What a stupid logic.
But why i noticed no redeploying people in Post Scriptum?
In Theory there can kill themself with a Grenade or with the console command and nobody does that.
The Same in Squad.
That's because medics are actually fielded in those games. Medics in HLL are useless because:
1) Smoke is functionally broken / renders differently for every client depending on when you spawned in.
2) Foliage does not render out at most engagement ranges.
3) Unconscious players can not be dragged
As for the OP's complaints about redeploying, I wholeheartedly *DISAGREE* with them and really shows their complete lack of understanding of why the mechanic exists in the first place. It's all well a good complain about it from a "realism" perspective but until we have 2000 slots servers there is no better way to simulate a dynamic battle front as found in a WW2 setting.
Is there room for improvement, yes. As already stated the grid based system just doesn't work. This was highlight many, many times during EA and was completely ignored.
Support, Engineer, Medic, and Machine Gunner are all mostly pointless. Yeah, you need a few supplies. The maps already have insane amounts of cover. I don't know. I only have 10 hours but there are some glaring issues.
