Best advice is to stick super close to your squad/other team mates and medics specifically.
This game has a weird emphasis on positioning and momentum: Ideally you shouldn't move across large stretches of open ground without having active smokes and knowing where your next cover is going to be.
If you're joining late, watch the map for 30 seconds or so, so you can get a feel of where friendly units are dying; this will help you figure out what areas enemies might be positioned, and sticking with your squad/using smokes will help you get into the rhythm of moving forward safely, even if you're not getting kills.
Otherwise there's actually a pretty low emphasis on stalemate gunfights in HLL: Try to get a height advantage with your squad/medics if you can; but a lot of gunfights will be one-sided based on potential accompanying tanks, forward spawn points and enemy position.
Nah, eventually you learn the way of combat in this game, you eventually learn where and how to utilize cover, which areas are more prone to receiving enemy fire like within 200 meters of the objective, etc. It gets better with time and experience, oppose to some of the sourpusses in this game it is quite the learning curve from BF and COD. Just try and remember the line from Brothers in Arms (I think) "KKEEEPPPP YYOUURR HHEEAAADDD DDDOOOOWWWWNNNN".
LOL
every beginning is hard.. it was the same for me.. after like 20 hours you know how it works... stick to it and you get rewarded some day, trust me...
patience is key here, dont rush, use cover.. dont run on open filds, stick to your squad.. and like i said, you need to know the maps which can take a long time since they are very big and detailled...
if you dont like that kind of playstyle then the game is maybe nothing for you..
people who kill you are probably those who sit behind cover and scan the area... thats how you play HLL...only move when the area is safe...
- Avoid crossing open spaces, move along cover. If you have to cross - use smoke grenades or ask someone to use them in prox chat if you don't have any
- Check your map frequently to get an idea of what is currently happening (has to be done less frequently if you have a Squad that communicates well).
- Don't fire near your OP/Garrisson if you don't have to, to avoid drawing attention to its position and keeping a safe spawnpoint
- Always plan what you are going to do next, never just run around hoping that you'll see someone before they see you
- mention to your Squad that you are new - a lot of people are helpful and friendly towards new players
- choose a weapon/class according to the current situation. This will get easier once you unlock more loadouts, but its still possible for beginners (don't bring a Thompson to a long distance fight, don't use a Kar98 in close quarters combat)
OP , i kind of suggest for you to change the thread title to "I die alot, please help?".
Dying simulator is a buzzword that is not accurate, given your basic knowledge of the game. and could give the wrong impression of the game, when in reality you're just learning.
