Why does the game look so horrendous? It's like minecraft had a baby with a commodore 64 game. then put a weird shimmering effect over the top.
Makes spotting anyone or anything an absolute nightmare - and when you die from one bullet YOU NEED TO BE ABLE TO SPOT PEOPLE!!!!!
Pay particular attention to the hand in the third screenshot - wtf is that meant to be?

Is this just the result of unreal engine generally sucking D|CK? or is it something else?
Is there some magic settings I need to enable to be able to actually see stuff normally?
How in god's name do you guys make your screenshots and videos look so good? In motion the pixels flicker so badly that it's like an episode of Pokemon from the nineties.

My settings are on a mix of high, medium and epic btw.

Those screenies look fine on my monitor at 3440 x 1440, so I have to guess your monitor is set to potato rez.

Looks very bad ... But its not the games fault, its your system.

This has been reported with HLL for a long time, it's not system and it's not 'entirely' the game.
Have a play around with the settings, particularly AA settings.
Some people that have reported these poor graphics have fixed them by playing around with the settings.
Have a play and see what you think.

1360 x 768 is your resolution you play with ? And you wonder because of pixels ? OMG dude what the Hell !
Rat Bastard Jul 28, 2019 @ 6:40am
Change your resolution in video settings.

Hmm, looks just like my game. But my Hardware is 10 years old so...!
Have a look at performance guides, or play low and slow till you can buy a new PC. I'll get one this Year, hope to increase my skills then :)
See you, Shoot you

nah man, changed it down to better show what I mean - since pictures don't really capture it. Look at the squiggly/pixelly lines all over ♥♥♥♥. That happens on any resolution, but is REALLY pronounced when you move.

If you're looking at this game and comparing its visuals to games made 10-20 years ago, then you really need to get your eyes checked buddy... Compared to a lot of games made today, HLL actually looks genuine and not cartoony (unless that's what they're going for).

Spotting people is meant to be difficult, just as it would actually be. Sorry they aren't all wearing bright yellow flashing vests that say "I'M HERE, SHOOT ME!".

I can honestly say I've never had the issues you're talking about when it comes to the flickering. But maybe someone else might know more about what settings might be affecting that.
Look at the leaf in the first photo - to the left of the gun. Why does it look like that? The whole game looks like that, no matter what settings I set it on.

I know man its the broken AA, TA with this game all the corners and linies are flashing because of that i think that is the problem. Before the update with this settings it looks really good but now i have some strange aa flickering they have to fix it !

[SystemSettings]

r.DefaultFeature.AntiAliasing=2

r.TemporalAACurrentFrameWeight=0.2

r.TemporalAASamples=64

r.TemporalAASharpness=0.8

r.Tonemapper.Sharpen=1

you have to change the r.TemporalAASamples=1..not ideal the AA is broken but it helps.

With the broken AA I ended up disabling it (I use Nvidia Inspector).

To have a clearer image, I also disable DOF, the film grain and the bloom.
Here is how you can edit your engine.ini to do that :

[SystemSettings]
r.Tonemapper.Sharpen=0
r.SceneColorFringeQuality=0
r.Tonemapper.GrainQuantization=0
r.Tonemapper.Quality=0
r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0
r.BloomQuality=0
