Leveling up takes forever
Why should leveling up take that long? I have 70 in-game hours and I still haven't even reached level 5 with any of my main classes. The fact that I need to play constantly for 1+ hours to get my xp combined with the excessively slow progression really makes up for a frustrating experience. I usually achieve a decent score, compared to the other players, but I do not feel rewarded at all after each game. I understand that level-unlocked cosmetics are meant to show veterancy but having to reach a certain level to unlock good weapons really isnt that great.

I wasnt intending to make it sound like a complaint, I just wanted to hear some suggestions on how to level up more efficiently.

I agree with you on this. What worse is that usually the loadouts you unlock are with SMGs and usually better loadouts generally, which i really dont like. Otherwise i don't mind it being hard to level up, only when certain benefits like that is locked behind it

To your question about how to level quicker; I don't really know besides some roles typically rewards you more points than others, otherwise you'd just have to grind it out:)

To level quicker pick your role, then drive the supply truck back and forward for SL's, engineers, etc. Easy if you have someone building defences.

Start every match by building nodes. Those nodes will accrue points throughout the game and you can change back to the class you want to level up.

Sikon is unfortunately wrong -- that was patched.

I played project reality and Squad. New to this. I think the rank system is fine. There is nothing you *NEED* to unlock. It is all for a slight change in the class or cosmetic. It isn't meant to be COD style where you chase every XP point and rank. You're suppose to get it over time. Shows who has played a while and who hasn't.

I wish as a squad leader I could unlock all the rifles/smgs to use. There are a few guns, not in the squad lead class. I think as you rank beyond level 3 you should unlock more rifles. If I want a STG44 as a german squad leader, let me have it. If I want a grease gun or M1 as an American squad leader, let me have it. Perks of constantly leading and not getting a chance to enjoy other guns.

Heck I think the german squad leader should even be able to unlock a PPSH41 w/drum. Those were captured and used widely by the Germans.

He isn't wrong. That's how i get every class at level 10. The only thing the have patched is that you can only build 3 nodes.

To be fair - after 1k hours I was able to level up couple of classes up to level X. Some of them is easier level up than others. SL is very easy, the first one I leveled up to max. Same goes for commander I think and Enginer as long as you placing stuff. But still to reach IX assault I use the trick with placig 4x3 nodes when you could. In a good match you can get like 1000-1500 class exp. And I would say it's really good. Of course depending on class and various factors. While when you build nodes you could easily get 10K+ And yet! On higher level of leveling class you would still need like 100K exp.

Being able to switch between level 6 with 6 grenades and 3/4 smokes to level 9 with a satchel when needed is good. Sometimes your AT can't get that shot off or can't get to the enemy vehicle to place his own. One thing I did learn quickly when trying to place the satchel, if the tank is moving and you're directly behind it, keep your gun out until it stops. Sometimes they surprise you when they suddenly jump out the tank and shot you. Assault has to be the best role to level up on.

1,186 hours currently;
Rank 10 Squad Lead
Rank 10 Support
Rank 10 Engineer
Rank 9 Commander
Rank 5 Medic
Rank 5 Assault
Rank 5 Anti-Tank
Rank 3 Machine-Gunner
Rank 3 Rifleman

Still haven't unlocked that satchel for the assault class... mainly because people ALWAYS be assault ...then never toss smokes, ugh!!!

Seriously though... the grind is real. Fastest way to level up; always help build anything [nodes, defenses, anything] if you have a hammer, swing it for points! Artillery is also a GREAT way to level rather quickly... even as a loader.

Check this guide out. You can boost yourselves using a friend a spending 30 mins of pure boredom.

I have 400 hours and i used this to get to assault lvl 9. Its a pity that it has come to this but i justify it by not having to spend 1500h+ to get a certain class. And that this method isnt a bug or anything its more of a oversight/loophole that has been in the game ever since i started.

70 hours buhu so basically nothing oof. This is not Battlefield where everything gets thrown after you, this games takes dedication and long term progression, plus it is almost to easy now to level up stuff, because you can earn exp by a ton of different activities.
