I mean, the munition nodes could easily act as that.
It would give them more of a purpose than just being arbitrary structures that are just there to make the resource numbers go up.
Let's start with the fact that redeploying looks stupid: dude just dies on the spot without a reason.
Now, new structure for switching roles won't make redeploying less attractive because most likely sitting through death timer will still be faster than actually running up to the structure and back.
And this leads to another big problem of redeploy which is using it for teleporting. I run offensive sl most of the time and as soon as my squad caps the point they commit mass suicide so they can spawn on the op I smuggled up the next point.
It's really bad in general that soliders life is so meaningless in hll. There should be some real consequence to dying as infantry but I have no idea how it could be implemented in this game.
If discouraging abusing redeploy is not possible they could at least try to make it look better somehow. Maybe experiment with how it's done in coh for retreating units.
with how the game has progressed since EA and to present, i highly doubt the developers would be willing to make such dramatic changes to "a officially released, functional game" which why i was was leaning more towards a solution that works within the constrains of the asinine meta the develops have decided "is best" for the game.
Not that I'm opposed to a more realistic 'redeploy' function, mind you. Just that I doubt it will ever be added, as opposed to them simply adding or modifying an existing in-game asset.
they just have to implement tickets like every other games, like squad, post scriptum, rising storm, bf,....
