That's actually a bad sign. Every time they mentioned reducing the amount of automatics in the game we got even more with the next update. It has been ages since the devs did what they said. At this point it's just PR talk. I always have to laugh when someone mentions HLL and historical accuracy in the same sentence.
Could they possibly add any more automatics? I haven't played the new maps since I uninstalled long ago. Is everyone just running around with PPSHs now or what?
The soviets have ironically enough the least amount of automatic weapons in the game.
And I have to say, the German Vs Soviet Matchup is by far more entertaining, than fighting the americans or playing as the americans.
Just because they have way less automatics and semi-automatics than the americans.
Them missing a shot where most of them run around with Bolt-action and you punishing them with a hit from a bolt-action feels much much better, than the guy just turning around and spraying his entire mag around, before you can even cycle the next round in.
It could be fun if the game supported better, more complex mechanics but it doesn't. There's no depth to the various gameplay elements. It starts with gunplay and ends with sector capture mechanics.
HLL as it got bigger forced to become a BF clone.
The class loadouts aren't faction specific.
If your Rifleman is level 3.... he is level 3.
And yet I rarely see people with full auto-weapons on the soviet side. Might also be, because the maps where the Soviets are on, have a lot of wide open spaces, spaces where a SMG isn't really something you want to use.
Sure you can do what 99% of the american players do and just empty your entire clip into a general direction and hope to get your "skill" headshots trough it, but that isn't very effective with the russian SMGs.
Its not like there were whole platoons only equipped with such, same goes for the Soviets and the Allies. The point is that they need to introduce this specialised Squads as assault Units were basically everone gets a fullauto and on the other hand take away most of the fullautos on all the regular squads.
