So, where should I build the nodes?
Placed down blueprints for some nodes near our spawn, hoping someone would drop some supplies. But two guys immediately tore down the blueprints.. o_O
Any reason why nodes arent supposed to be in cover, on our part of the map?
Still learning the game, so guidance is welcome :)

After the recent update, it doesn't really matter at all where you build them, but they should obviously still be covered or hidden. My assumption is they simply tore them down to build their own. But... still kind of weird.

Either that or they're thinking nodes still run off the pre-release conditions: the further sector up the field, the more rewarding they were.

It USED to be that if you built them in the first two sectors then they would not generate anything, then to 5 then to 10 but now you can build anywhere. They probably did not know...but they still should not have just pulled them down without letting you know.

Placing nodes in forward locations is still relevant due to manpower nodes halving the reload timer for supplies and ammo node halving the reload timer for ammo drops. Therefore placing them near a garrison isnt a terrible idea.
They dont really need to be hidden anymore either. Ever since nodes get automatically torn down in a sector capture, it hasn't been important to search and destroy them. Afterall it takes a solid minute to manually remove them. Just keep in mind that if you place a forward garrison, you'll need to rebuild them if the point is captured.

I have yet to see anyone actually care about this or take it into consideration, although not wrong. But to have the option to hide them vs, not hide them, I would choose to hide them...

Lol
Yeah, I bring it up when I can so I'm not the only engineer...
It can be helpful when fortifying a point as support players can keep dropping supplies sooner. Otherwise it isn't going to decide if you win or lose.
