They need a really robust ping system or a well designed comm wheel IMO to get people cooperating properly.
Relying almost entirely on voice in 2021 is a disaster waiting to happen!
Like Apex .
I think they made a great balance between arcade and realistic game play .
Squad has the same 2 hour formula for match length.
HLL attracts the anti social COD lovers who run rampant just farming XP with kills not playing the objective.
Squad promotes a more objective type playstyle and less respawn and die mechanics to take a point since the medics there are worth while to play. There is also no 10 second death screen that takes up your patience when wanting to choose a new respawn point that then takes 40 seconds to spawn in after that 10 seconds..
Voice is fine, its the server admins not solving problems and enforcing their rules. If 1 person starts up a fight in command coms then it goes to ♥♥♥♥ for the rest of the round due to flamed egos of the entire team. Yes I do also play on community servers with "active admins".
What they really need to do is fix medics and make the respawn mechanics different to change the flow of the game and how medics can be used to win matches.
Playing this game feels like playing Heroes and Generals -respawn die respawn die respawn die- -point taken onto the next- -respawn die respawn die- -point taken onto the next- and repeat...
the best way to get exp in HLL is to sit on the objective tho. except for supply runs.
Push respawn time to lets say .... 40 seconds? Medics would be of a high value. Getting back to where you have been is already difficult enough, you just need to prevent people from not being pissed off by their own mistakes.
If you die and respawn in less than 10-15 seconds (depending on your luck ofc), you will NEVER be faced with your own mistake. If you are forced to look at a black screen for 30-40 seconds you are like: "what the ♥♥♥♥ have i done wrong?", or you simply want to rush in and get pissed off by such a waiting time and leave the game. Nevertheless the gameplay WOULD change and people WOULD have to be more patient / cautious --> medics e.g. (they prevent you from watching that black screen)
Guess thats the reason why communication in squad / ps is really awesome? No its not. A ticket system - as already mentioned in x other posts - is ignored until its too late. Just try out PS (e.g.). Nobody cares unless they have 100 tickets left. Then people get toxic for every death, every mistake etc. while the same people literally wasted those tickets for the last 30 minutes.
A ticket system punishes the player INDIRECTLY as you alone wont waste the whole amount of tickets. Besides that - lets take a look at lol (e.g.), people will always say: "i died that much because i had to and because MY TEAM sucks". Again back to PS: literally 70% of armored squads waste so many tickets for literally nothing, but do they care? No, they are just playing the game.
On the other side, if you have to wait x-seconds to respawn, YOU WILL get sick of watching black screens for such a high amount of time, therefore you WILL become more cautious / patient. Even if your attitude wont change, you are punished DIRECTLY
To name an example from HLL: dont we have some kind of ticket system already? Fuel? Ammo? Manpower? Do people care? Its quite much the same as in PS / squad, its a ressource system. Yet in all these games coordination / communication differs. In squad its best, in PS - as well as in HLL - it sucks, PS just doesnt suck this much.
Most players that tried them, left, because it wasnt for them.
HLL trashed its core community, and followed the smell of money.
In other words HLL followed the bulk of the gaming community, which is mostly casual.
HLL betrayed its original backers, they betrayed their own original concept, and switched to a semi casual run and gun simulator.
That is why Squads and PS have small, but loyal communities
while HLL have a large, messy, casual community
that is also why HLL is the first and the last game from the devs, as no one will ever back them ever again, while Squads and PS will eventually move on to new and better titles, knowing they have a loyal community to follow them.
As reference to what i said, you can check the game "StarDrive" that was abandoned by the devs, so they developed StarDrive 2 that no one bought, and the company died.
While games like the X series (X3, X-Rebirth, X4) remained loyal to the community, even though its small, but big enough for them to offer us more games in the X universe with more content and better gameplay every few years.
HLL is pretty much dead
The devs (maybe) will release the Eastern Front, which will be the last large update
but we will never see any more games from them
i doubt that. the game grows with every day.

IF we will see any new titles from them, it will be more like Call of Duty
