ERROR: Another Instance of the game is already running

As the title suggests, I have just received this error for the first time since owning the game for a couple of months. I have tried a few things before writing this thread for help.
1. Verifying integrity of files.
2. Uninstall and reinstall
3. Updated drivers
4. After the error message pops up I go to task manager to try and end task for HLL but nothing is running under the "processes" tab for HLL.

Any help is much appreciated

I keep having problems with Unreal. It crashes and leaves the game frozen at start-up. Do you start from Steam? Have you tried starting from the game itself?

I've tried starting from desktop and steam and get the same error. Is there any way to tag a dev so they can see this thread?

I had to shutdown my Varjo Aero VR runtime in the system tray. Obviously not everyone has this. What I think is happening is HLL or Easy AntiCheat has a dependency on some common library that can only be initialized once on the system, so if you have some other software using the same lib it detects it as already running. So try shutting down everything in the system tray and see if that helps at all (or if you're a Varjo Aero user just quit the system tray runtime).

After a very long time trying to sort this issue out, if you have tried EVERYTHING and you still get this error, uninstall geforce experience and it will boot! I found using ccleaner that it comes up as an active program however it does not show up in the task manger! when you go into geforce experience Home, HLL is there and its reading all the settings from the game! Uninstall geforce experience and it works!!! You're Welcome!
