I think this is made to give you some kind of confirmation / achieving feeling.
I mean helmets back then were made of metals/steel and did actually make a noise when you would shoot them.
This always happens when a bullet hits a piece of metal, especially when its rather thin.
Never noticed any sounds when hitting walls or dirt.
They are tacky and have too much bass behind it. I miss the cracks and sharp noises of them landing versus getting a headache over time effect
I had to drop my FX volume even further due to the piercing bullet proximity whistle/whizzing noise from MGs firing overhead or close by. This sound is so loud that I can't actually here where the MG is shooting from or anything else in the game. Not sure what was wrong with the last change they made to these effects.
As said, never really noticed that.
What I like is the sounds in " Squad ". They seem very real
Dude I've played squad alot. The bullet sounds in that game is great but this has too much movie sounds and bass into their impact causing ear piercing conditions that you dont know where its being fired from or the sound is too much giving you headaches. If you haven't noticed this then you need to fix your hearing aids.
Next time I play maybe I can try to get some video of 4 american MG's firing around your feet and your screen shaking all over the place with gray colors around your screen and the noise destroying your ear drums from the bass in the impacts.
They are trying so hard to ensure you hear the bullet coming at you and land next to you
Must be some issue with your headset then, I don't find it to be " ear piercing " conditions. I admit the sounds can be a bit sharp sometimes but overall very close to real life.
A video can only explain what im hearing since I dont think people run into heavy MG fire alot. I just miss the old crack sounds of rounds landing is all.
There was waaaaaay waaaay waaay too much bullet crack before.
Really there needs to be a combination of the sharp crack for near misses and the current sounds for everything else.
Yep I agree but right now its all bass sounds. Too heavy standard for bullet impacts even on wood or stones are all the same sounds. No difference in shooting a piece of a wall near you then shooting a fence in front of it and when you shoot the dirt omg the bass is immense. Test this yourself with a 30 cal and fire at your friend around his feet 10m away. Then you all will see the audio issues more. Imagine 8 german MG's rounds landing all over the place with that sound in your head.
