Sight ranging and Focus zoom
So there are huge maps with bullet drops in this game but no sighting/sight ranging? Weapons like the Rocket Launchers and MGs really needs it.

Focus zoom should also stay even after you run out of breath (but with slight swaying) so it's easier to shoot distant targets instead of hunting for moving pixels, just like in Red Orchestra 2/Rising Storm 2.

A large part of the mechanics normally associated with modern shooters wouldn't work in HLL because of the simplicity of the underlying systems. We won't get any of them.

Both Red Orchestra 2 and Rising Storm 2 are older games made by indie devs just like Hell Let Loose. It really comes down to the devs' skill level or if they can't be bothered to add a simple mechanic that could help everyone with pixel hunting.

Unfortunately it's more about their schedule. If they ever had plans to turn HLL into a shooter similar to these titles they were dropped a long time ago. If they didn't they would have either constructed much more thought out base mechanics or replaced the current mechanics a long time ago.

I think Team17 insisted on turning the game into a console shooter. The alternative is the devs never intended to make the game they advertised on Kickstarter and I can't really believe that.

I remember many people (myself included) bringing this point up before and after the ballistics update. If they haven't implemented it by now they certainly won't any time soon. I don't imagine you'd think of adding a ballistics system without considering adjustable sights, so I'm sure this was a deliberate decision for Black Matter.

StormhawkV hit the nail on the head and I don't expect a dev to be giving an answer anytime soon.
