graphic settings to see enemies
After 60 hours of this game, I still feel like I can't see the enemies, expecially in the map with the fog, while they can see me without any difficulty, and after a couple of games I have to stop because my eyes hurt from the effort

https://i.ibb.co/mN1hxfx/20200901112357-1.jpg this is a screenshot of my graphic settings.

Is there any pious soul who could tell me what settings other players use to be able to see me better than the Hubble telescope?

It seems like maxing all the settings, make it even more difficult.

as far as i can tell, the only right answer here is to get a 6969 x 420 monitor or whatever the ♥♥♥♥ the cool kids are using these days. the bigger the ♥♥♥♥ on your screen, the easier it is to see it (and shoot it, i guess.) i can't see ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ half the time. i think this game is making me go blind.

edit: i will say though, in the mean time, best thing you can do is just go lay in a field and watch for them. it's a lot easier to spot dudes when they're moving and you aren't, regardless of the graphics. just squat by a tree in hurtgen and watch the bodies pile up...

Oh right, the monitor, I didn’t think about that, sadly I am on a gaming laptop :( I usually do the medic, at least I can help somehow. I feel like the assault rifle is pretty useless in this game, I’ll never be that close to shoot with that gun without dying after 5 seconds

I use 1920x1080 and it’s fine. I play at max settings aside from body count at 0.5 and even use TAA (the one that looks like Vaseline in your eyes) and I have no difficulty seeing the enemy afar.

What about foliage quality? Does it make any difference?

Have you tried it? That might be the key.

So I play at 1440p with most setting on high for the detail.

Also anti aliasing - turn it off.

Idk why but it muddies and blurs shadows (giving this weird crosstiching effect) making it hard to see any detail and in addition clarity has a really bad ghosting effect that makes it harder to see people when you are moving.

This might just be a me problem.

But you can test if you also get this problem by going up to a wall and leaning and seeing if you see the ghosting effect. If you have that going on while you are moving and you're watching anything you have 0 chance of seeing anyone until it's too late because there's just too much distortion.

I think the issue with ghosting and the effect of Vaseline in your eyes as many put it is an issue with UE4 itself when using Standard TAA, I've come across this in quite a number of UE4 games. Spotting isn't an issue for me. I use a 24 inch curved monitor and sit about 20 to 22 inches from my screen give or take.

Wait until the grass rendering update comes out. If you're laying in the tall grass, you can't see anything. Out past 25m, everyone can see you. Look for hard cover until this is fixed. And quit running everywhere, this ain't CoD.

I am a doctor in game, I have to run everywhere anyway ahaha
But thank you for the tip about the grass.
I have noticed now that Standard AA is probably better then clarity AA sometimes, am I right?

I dont agree with your language, but yeah the words speak out of my soul.

Had the same with fog and also without.
I changed color settings at graphic card with contrast and its much better. Dont know what i changed for fog, but it works now.

Is a 4k/bigger monitor worth the investment then? My PC runs the game just fine but, I still have trouble spotting people (I'm a "mature" gamer, ie, crap eyesight!). If having a bigger, sharper monitor will make those blurry blobs easier to see and hit, I don't mind spending some cash.

Hard Cover, Stop looking around so much and just stay still. You'll see heads moving between debris if you stop to take a moment.

i run 1440p on a 27inch monitor with all settings on epic and clarity taa on, motion blur off and have no problem spotting enemies. i would save anyone that uses an nvidia graphics card go into the nvidia control panel and set the digital vibrance to 80% or higher i run mine at 100% so all the colours stick out and think that helps to distinguish enemies from bushes and trees.
