High ping is there for a reason. Some one with a super high ping is going to ruin everyone elses experience. PlanetSide is a prime example of this. as soon as the people from Asia (Primarily china) show up using their vpn's everyone anywhere near them's pings would sky rocket to 10k-25k and just ruin the game

As being said: VPN doesn't do anythig positive to your ping. It probably even worsens it as the packets have to do a detour on their way to the target. Your LAN cable quality also doesn't matter. The problem is the distance from your location to the game server and all the different 'hops' it has to take. Your only hope is to get better internet or some South American HLL community.

please dont kill servers while connecting from long distance. Its like connecting to japan server from EU. ruins it for whole server.

Distance isn't and issue. AU is seperated by a body of water, still connects to the rest of the world decently.

South America on the other hand has poor connections and requires decent, legitimate internet and not bootlegged AOL dialup.

That's just not right. Distance does matter.
Network signals are electric impulses that need time to travel a given distance. The longer the distance, the longer the signal needs to reach its target. Additionally, the longer the distance is, the signal has to go through more gateways (called 'hops' in IT language). This will also increase the time it needs.

You can actually see this when you do a "tracert 8.8.8.8" in your command prompt in windows. It will show you the 'hops' your ping signal will go through and the time it needs to reach the Google DNS server.

Yeah, sure join an european server and tell me if you have the distance does't create lag for you, i mean i would love to hear about you connecting to an AU server and not having lag.

I usually play on EU servers with 125ms as do MANY players who have friends across the globe with better results with better internet, It isnt a special feat and only requires, Decent internet.

Download and Upload speeds arn't all that matters in an internet connection bud.

Really reccomend you go look at austrailia you used as example of people with good internet that supposedly doesn't have issues with other regions, since apparently they would get around 200 ping to US east coast. I'm just saying there's a limit that "get bet internet" is an answer when the issue is the distance more than connection quality
