But all around it is a more complete and well rounded game,
These 2 are not very comparable. This has the potential to be a better title, but was released years after and is still in (earlyish)development.
HLL is more simple to just jump in and fart around, Squad requires a bit more focus and dedication.
HLL has it on customization(as in there actually is some though still in its infancy)
All you can do in squad is pick your class.
Go watch some youtube and make up your mind, don't take these fools opinions, if you ask in the HLL discussions you are clearly going to get bias.
The state of HLL has the potential to become something 100% different as the devs are just getting started. Squad is nearly a done deal.
thank you all for the info i appreciate it!
Squad was a pretty good game, Post Scriptum was dogsh*t.
This game is an graphically improved Darkest Hour 44-45' (Red Orchestra 1 Mod) imo.
This game isn't dead, you just need to refresh the browser.
If you get people doing their roles properly you get the real sense of what the game is.
Yes the game is still a Work in Progress, but they are actually working on the game unlike people who made other games that died in Early Access.
Best thing to do is to get the game, play it for under 2 hours and if you really aren't into it then return it.
No you don't,
This is not a ticket based game, so kills do not matter one bit.
It takes 1 person to go around and poop on the garrisons then a squad to push into the points and you win the match.
The other 39 people on the team can just fart around and you will still win.

ok
They absolutely do. Each death drains the teams manpower (different roles have different values). Trust me, your commanders want ALL of the manpower!
You're right in that it's not a blatant ticket system, but your death has a consequence.
There is way more to the game than "fart around and wait for one squad to push the objective". If that's been your only experience then I'm sorry dude, definitely not how it's played out for me.
Vital to the war effort.
I have won dozens upon dozens of matches with no commander.
Nothing to be sorry about I enjoy the game quite a bit. It is not a knock, it is just the truth in its current state.
A competent squad is better than all the commanders, manpower, and tanks you can muster.
Also when you quote someone you might want to be sure you are quoting something someone actually said.
No one in this thread said
"fart around and wait for one squad to push the objective"
I also never implied that there was not more to the game than that. So you built a massive false narrative there. I simply said it is easy to do so.
Finally can you not hijack the thread? Nothing in your post was about Squad Vs HLL.
I value realism in my games and Squad's huge maps with lower player counts creates a hugely unrealistic focus on popping spawns. Whereas in HLL many more fights are decided by actual fire and position superiority.
BUT - it will come down to what kind of game you want to play. Squad is more Counter-Strike to HLL's Red Orchestra.
I'm sorry I interpreted the above description of the game as "fart around and wait for one squad to push the objective". Thought it was pretty close...
Wasn't trying to hijack the thread. This guy is looking into the game and i wanted to clarify the assumption that kills don't matter one bit. Thought it was also a bit of an oversimplification of how the game plays as well. While I agree that one really competent squad can dictate a match, sometimes that doesn't work out, and more often than not there is a heck of a lot going on.
HLL gives u that teamwork under fire experience.
Squad is 100% the better game as of now, I would buy that instead.
HLL is still super early access and runs like ♥♥♥♥, Its worth waiting for HLL to be released before dropping money on it.
That said squad has huge maps with only 80 players, Lots of boring parts and you might be lucky to even get more than 10 kills in 30 minutes.
HLL with 100 players with smaller maps (not to small) will have you under fire and returning fire for the majority of the game. It truly is hell let loose.
